I agree with you about just letting "people that don't belong" come. There should be one important difference tween a skeptical organization and one of a less open-minded pursuation

One of the problems is the the word "skepticism" has several meanings, much like the word "theory". In common parlance, being skeptical means to not believe. When creationists call themselves "evolution skeptics", they're committing essentially the same equivocation fallacy as when they say "evolution is just a theory"--and most people don't realize it.
education about the meaning of the words is important, this is very true. I think it is important to separate the "atheism" from "skepticism" like we did in Edmonton.
