The story isn't the best, but you don't buy this game for the story. You buy it for thousands of hordes of orks that you endlessly tear apart, limb by limb!
The multiplayer is good and fun, just generic. And the horde mode is even better!
It's smooth, the controls are excellent and tight, and the weapons all feel meaty and amazing!
I give it a 9/10, because nothing is perfect, but this is pretty goddamn close!

Artistically the game is brilliant, they got it completely right. Also noticed Relic did recycle a lot of their 3D models from Dawn of War 2 as well as a lot of their high resolution textures.
It's the multiplayer gameplay and content which needs work on, the storyline and the art is perfect. And well... can't really do much about the voice acting, but truthfully they didn't do a bad job of it at least.
All I can say... I have mixed feelings about this game. Singleplayer feels polished but rushed. Multiplayer feels unfinished and has elements (such as melee combat) being broken, left unfixed then polished up to hide the fact it's bugged and broken. Weapons have balance issues, the Orks seem to have a pretty good grasp of English for Orks which perplexed me out a tad... It's missing Deff Dreads and Dread Naughts which were shown in the original trailers. It was rushed out the door.

@imaloony8 the 40k universe is intentionally set up like that it's done so that no one race is viewed as "good" and it is also highly influenced by feudal europe and the dark ages. Life sure sucks in the world of 40k though

@LordCHull It doesn't change the fact that 95% of characters in this universe are pricks or idiots, making interaction with them undesirable. That's why while playing Dark Heresy my friends and I just focus on running pickup trucks into final bosses, because that's the proper alternative to talking to anyone in this damn universe.

I have listened to gamers and reviewers talk about customisation multiple times and to be completely frank, I don't I've two shitting fucks about customisation. Why do people care so much about customisation so much? It really doesn't change anything unless customisation is something the game is based around. I was really looking forward to playing Space Marine, but now I'm not so sure. With all the work they have put into the multiplayer, the single player is probably gonna be super short. That is how it usually goes anyways.

@Conkerz03 Starcrafts marines are cheap ripoffs. Warhammer 40k came out in 1987. Starcraft was going to be a 40k RTS before Games Workshop said no and Blizzard created a massive ripoff. Your Protoss, Terrans and Zerg all rip off the Eldar, Human Imperium and Tyranids respectively. Learn about 40k and everything it has done for Starcraft before you go running your mouth.

As much as the Warhammer universe looks bad ass and brutal the reason i don't play it is. . . . Most of them are RTS games and i such at those :S But this game looks really nice if its a RPG like game with leveling, collecting and that sort of thing
And on a similiar recent note, had the classic argument with my cousin on Keyboard/Mouse vs Console controller regarding FPS and RTS games.. It's the worst kind of argument, but on the side of KB+M, I had to point out how many people complain that using a Eagle Eye KB+M Converter makes the ps3 forums blow up with people saying it's cheating because of how much faster/accurate a mouse responds and the other hand has access to so many more key commands. Auto-aim not required to target on a dime.
When I try to tell WoW players that Meridian 59 grandfathered graphic based 3d world MMOs with complete skill and spell sets, skill based character advancement (think UO), server wide PVP, guild pvp, in game chat forums, weddings, arena events, frenzy events, crafting, questing and a community based law system completely player driven, all wrapped up with mini games and raid mobs... It's about as bad as telling someone who started off on halo about games like counterstrike.

This game should seriously start promoting itself more. I played the demo and it was not bad at all, people say that it's just button mashing but there sadly mistaken, running into a horde just swinging will get you killed even on normal. Once i saw this video i was blown away by the content that's actually in here. W40k has captured the space marines perfectly, and knowing how supportive they are with their products, I know they will release way more DLC that will definatly keep us happy!
The multiplayer will be shit. I don't know how anything can be excited for it. Yes okay it has a multiplayer, whoopy. The problem is it's a multiplayer from 2002.
Think about it: it has what, TWO game modes? What the hell is that? Two playable races are you on crack? Not to mention how few class types there are.
I understand mutliplayer is not their main focus for this title but even if it's just tacked-on it's very easy to add more to it.

its extensive and grim and not everyone is an asshole (not all inquisitors are either just read some of the books and they are pretty dam awesome)

@LordCHull It doesn't change the fact that 95% of characters in this universe are pricks or idiots, making interaction with them undesirable. That's why while playing Dark Heresy my friends and I just focus on running pickup trucks into final bosses, because that's the proper alternative to talking to anyone in this damn universe.
TBH, I'm seriously considering having my assassin go rogue, because there's no reason for him to stay with the inquisition :/

I have listened to gamers and reviewers talk about customisation multiple times and to be completely frank, I don't I've two shitting fucks about customisation. Why do people care so much about customisation so much? It really doesn't change anything unless customisation is something the game is based around. I was really looking forward to playing Space Marine, but now I'm not so sure. With all the work they have put into the multiplayer, the single player is probably gonna be super short. That is how it usually goes anyways.

@Conkerz03 Starcrafts marines are cheap ripoffs. Warhammer 40k came out in 1987. Starcraft was going to be a 40k RTS before Games Workshop said no and Blizzard created a massive ripoff. Your Protoss, Terrans and Zerg all rip off the Eldar, Human Imperium and Tyranids respectively. Learn about 40k and everything it has done for Starcraft before you go running your mouth.

As much as the Warhammer universe looks bad ass and brutal the reason i don't play it is. . . . Most of them are RTS games and i such at those :S But this game looks really nice if its a RPG like game with leveling, collecting and that sort of thing

tactical/chaos marine: standard attack/defend
devestator/havoc: heavy weapons
assault/raptor: melee
btw I am guessing about those roles but they should be right, SM names on the left, Chaos names on the right

And on a similiar recent note, had the classic argument with my cousin on Keyboard/Mouse vs Console controller regarding FPS and RTS games.. It's the worst kind of argument, but on the side of KB+M, I had to point out how many people complain that using a Eagle Eye KB+M Converter makes the ps3 forums blow up with people saying it's cheating because of how much faster/accurate a mouse responds and the other hand has access to so many more key commands. Auto-aim not required to target on a dime.

When I try to tell WoW players that Meridian 59 grandfathered graphic based 3d world MMOs with complete skill and spell sets, skill based character advancement (think UO), server wide PVP, guild pvp, in game chat forums, weddings, arena events, frenzy events, crafting, questing and a community based law system completely player driven, all wrapped up with mini games and raid mobs... It's about as bad as telling someone who started off on halo about games like counterstrike.

damn this looks good. just played the demo and they really got the feel right and the looks are amazing.
love the little detail that they actually made the marines sound like adeptus astartes are suppose to do when they walk. that's about 500 pounds of power armoured genetically enhanced psycho conditioned angle of death stomping around. and you can hear it in every step ^^d

This game should seriously start promoting itself more. I played the demo and it was not bad at all, people say that it's just button mashing but there sadly mistaken, running into a horde just swinging will get you killed even on normal. Once i saw this video i was blown away by the content that's actually in here. W40k has captured the space marines perfectly, and knowing how supportive they are with their products, I know they will release way more DLC that will definatly keep us happy!

The multiplayer will be shit. I don't know how anything can be excited for it. Yes okay it has a multiplayer, whoopy. The problem is it's a multiplayer from 2002.
Think about it: it has what, TWO game modes? What the hell is that? Two playable races are you on crack? Not to mention how few class types there are.
I understand mutliplayer is not their main focus for this title but even if it's just tacked-on it's very easy to add more to it.
Give us at least 5 modes and 5 races. Good game.
