I am reading some of these comments and some of you people got us all wrong. I am a young polynesian woman and to the person who said"There is no other people more submissive to the white race as islanders peoples , those ignorants still believe today that whites are gods ,they even accept their inferiority" you need to check your facts. @BuffyunaTV Yes, however the only difference is that even though Hawaiians had false images portrayed about them on television, at least they were still positive portrayals.
For Africans and African Americans, they've bombarded the media with distorted and untrue negative images that don't represent what we are really like in both regions.
@thotsins I would say that docile sex addicts is a pretty negative image lol, but I agree that it's not as bad as blacks. Blacks are not only ugly but they are stupid, violent, and animalistic.

However, even though these were negative images, and the western world was using the islands to portray a place where they could fulfill their stereotyped fantasies of indigenous populations—at least it still encouraged tourism which built up the economy, although unfortunately at the top, it's still under western control.
For brown peoples in Africa, in addition to being portrayed as all those negative things you mentioned, we also were portrayed as having no culture, & contributed nothing positive to humanity. The western world has been harsh on everybody with their propaganda, but for brown peoples of Africa and the states, we've had by faar the worst.
The difference between western propaganda portrayed about Africans vs islanders is that island propaganda was designed to stimulate tourism, but for Africa propaganda was designed to HINDER tourism, investment in order for westerners to steal our resources. So instead of us getting rich from our resources & the beauty of our cultures, other nations have been stealing it & benefiting from them, repaying us with faulty loans that create corrupt governments, shoddy materials, & media propaganda.
