Not really but it has passed the litmus test applied for league 2 requirements so it will do for the time being, ultimately a new ground within the borough of merton is the preferred option
is Kingsmeadow suitable for League Two? I just watched the video and shouted the goals like mad! We won the FA Cup on my 15 th birthday. I'm an ex-pat too by the way (live in Paraguay)
I'm not a Wimbledon fan, but it was a massive shame we were still banned from Europe when Wimbledon won the cup - would have been great to see them on that stage. Good luck to AFC!
Start supporting the club that plays a mile and a half from your house when you're 6 years old and they are in the 4th division. 8 years later, you're not even 14 and you've seen them finish 6th in the top flight and win the FA Cup. That's me and Wimbledon. No one will ever do that again, except maybe AFC Wimbledon ;-)
A very, very gud comment n oh so tru, I support d Celtic but Wimbledon r Legends. Joe Kinnear is d BOMB. God save Wimbledon dey wil b bac shortly n we wil all rally agains't Merton Council.
as a red, i was a heartbroken 8 yr old kid when Wimbledon did us at wembley in 1988 but fair play to your lot. i think its a real shame wot has happened 2 your club since relagation from the prem in 2000. i think the F.A. shuda done alot more 2 keep your club in London, cant believe the clubs' identity has been completely took apart since. if Liverpool were ever 2 get MK Dons in the cup i wonder if '88 will ever get a mention. to me, they're not the same club.
thanks for the comments, you don't have to worry AFC Wimbledon are now playing in the Blue Square South and will eventually overhaul MK Dons the fakes, I'm waiting for the day when the fixture AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons comes up that will be one hell of a match !
Born in Tooting, spent the first 31 years of my life in Wimbledon. Started supporting them Non-League at Plough Lane and went to nearly every game home & away until 2000 when I moved to the USA. I was there that day and still cannot belive it, an incredable 11 years for the Don's (non-league to FA cup winners) - If I was still in the UK, I would be at EVERY AFC Wimbledon game ! (screw the MK Don's)
Yes if I still lived in UK I would be there too believe me unfortunately I cut my ties in 1981 and have lived here in Qld Australia for the last 27 years but still get back now and again and always try and go to an AFC game
Brilliant. My old man said this was the best day of his life after me being born. I was 3 years young on this day. Remember MK dons, you are nothing, NOTHING involved with this great part of football history. AFC Wimbledon!!!
Beasant, Fashanu, Vinnie Jones, Wise all in their heyday - who'd want to tackle Vinnie or Denis? I'd be scared of their vengeful responses!! Great clip - thanks!!

Vinny Jones saying "Does she really love us? Better not tell Youngy that, he'd try and pull her!" Funny as fuck!

It was an unbelievable story, from non-league to Cup winners in a decade. I hope AFC Wimbledon do something similar.

It was old Plough Lane in my time in London, big Eddie Reynolds heading goals galore, they were a great team in those far off 1960s.
