eyes are welling up watching this. i remember this day vividly. every single waking moment. waking up , breakfast, meeting my da, the pint, the supporters bus., the journey to paradise., the game, the goals, the trophy, the celbrations, the journey back to the pub, the celebrations, the drinks. i love my dad, i love the celtic. i fucking love the celtic!! YWNA my fellow tims. I love you all !!! I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH !!
9th May 1998 was the best day of my life, from the kick off to the final whistle everything went the way it was meant to, i was a bag of nerves because of the way we blew it the previous week and was physically sick on the morning of the game
Couldnt stay in the house went out in the car. Went up and down the M8 about ten times headed for Celtic Park to listen to the crowd. Headed home pains in the belly. Went into the loo then Harold scored. Breeks up taxi phoned in the Eagle Inn within ten mins. Coatbrig went mental that night. Fans walked from the Kirkshaws club up the main st down into the Wheeflet. HaiL HaiL.
@67jkerr sorry, I put comments on approve only to keep certain other supporters from posting their bile. Would have helped if I'd received notification of new comments though!
Still gets the hairs on my neck up everytime. the Scarves Banners Jerseys is the best YNWA i have ever heard. can always remember laughing and shouting so hard we had tears of joy at the Brattback Goal and the second the ref pulled the ball up. and I was 4000 miles away. what a day. I just hope that I get to see it again this May.
Was workin that day in a kitchen listening to scotsport on the radio with my mate jim ....tears were flowing, what a fantastic day it was and the night I cant remember much.
I miss Glasgow and listen and watch the bhoys live stream in New Zealand.
thank you bhoys i waited 12years for that day and bloody hell it gets better every time i remember it...
ps 'smell the glove',crontrary to belief, was actually graffiti on the wall that the team thought was funny whilst on route to rugby park. johnathon gould explained this on the bbc documentary 'that was the team that was'...
That was one of the best days of my life. I was only 15 at the time but remember it like yesterday. Been on the pitch after the game and the stmosphere! AMAZING!!!
I know exactly how you feel mate . I actually have a 2 hr recording of all the goals and comments from the radio of that day . I had two radio/tape machines recording all afternoon , and I edited it all down to two hrs . Wild horses wouldn't get it off me
