@SwaggaBrandZ the battery is supposed to work with all psp's (except the psp go and the vita) and be able to unbrick them. but i have never tried it on a psp 3001 so i cannot confirm this.
@bluelighting112 i have not tested them on psp slim myself but the files should work fine. there is a slim downgrader option in the program if you are not sure about using the universal one i use in this video (but the universal downgrader does work on psp slim).
vista users: download a program called psp tool and format your memory stick with that then upload that program back onto your psp and then install the ipl with that
Thanks for your help BUT I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM. And its a big one. it wont charge at all the psp doesn't recognise the battery and no orange charge light comes on. PLEASE HELP!!!
sorry but i am not sure how to fix it. it happened to me once and the reason was that i was using a USB cable to charge it instead of the PSP power cable. all i can suggest is that you try changing your method of charging your psp but it probably wont make a difference.
there is a chance that your battery is broken but that probably isnt the case.
try searching for your problem on google or try contacting Datel. sorry about not being much help
it seems as if all the links to the totalnewbi easyinstaller have been removed. the link in the video description points to a winrar file which contains a text file which contains a MegaUpload link. But this link is broken too.
If anyone can find a link to a working version of the totalnewbi easyinstaller, please tell me. I am looking as well.
you cannot use a TOOL battery normally because it forces the psp to boot from the memory stick instead of the flash memory when you turn the psp on with it inserted
Yeh...damn in not smart enough...i think that though because you can softmod a normal battery so it becomes pandora and maybe you could soft mod a tool battery o.0...or maybe there is a little program in the root of the memory stick when the PSP boots off the memory stick this program will tell it to boot off the XMB...i hope there is because that would mean i have 3 batteries =D
i need to know if i can hack my psp 3000 with that plz help thanx mate, p.s i'm a londoner, oh yh if you know anything on the pandora battery creator the actual datel item please inform me thanks
YOU FUCKING RETARD IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO WILL STOP SONY PSP GAMES FUCK YOU,just kidding will this apply to the lite blue digital battery it says on amazon only service mode for 2000 model is that true cause i trashed my psp battery but when i opened it up it was in a different layout, i found the instructions for that layout but that was the thing the battery didnt have the chip to cut so when i put in the battery it wont work ,hacking the 3000 model until i read that at the sellers at amazon
Question. For now I just want to create a magic memory stick for in case I ever end up bricking my PSP. Using the pandora program thingy to do so, does the tool battery have to be in the PSP during installation, or can I just keep my normal battery in there for that process?
Lol, man, he doesn't. And not only that but, guess what, calling somebody gay isn't an insult! You fail. Gay people are just that. Homosexual. There's nothing wrong with that, you know.
I have PSP Slim so I typed in option 3 in the setup for the MMS. I have finished but when I put in my tool battery I do not get the screen up what tells me what to press to do whatever. My original PSP Firmware is 5.02.
are you using windows vista to run the total newbi easy installer. if you are, then that is the reason why it isnt working properly. you have to run the installer on windows xp
hey i did all the things u did it worked fine and when i restarted my psp a blue screen came up with diff lang. and i clciked O and now my psp is version 1.50 is that ok?
buddie, your video was a major help, ive hacked psp fat which was originaly 5.01 firmware and im now running 3.90m33-2 along with the kernel addon, also got the nes emulator etc. and a load of psp iso games :) just wanted to ask you if this tutorial runs the same process with the psp slim? do you know.. as ive got a psp-slim data tool battery aswell.
i dont know what is on the memory stick so i cant tell if it is a good idea to make the memory stick or not. if you want to risk it, you can try the memory stick.
mate does it matter what firmwre we have? my psp slim is 5.01 does it matter? forgive my ignorance mate.. im an old fart who is learning slowly but surly lol
the pandoras battery (datel tool) is supposed to downgrade any psp firmware. but i havent tested it on 5.01 firmware before so if you want to risk it, then please do tell me how it went.
sorry but i dont know how to make a pandoras battery. i just bought the datel tool battery; its not too expensive. this video shows how to make a magic memory stick.
this worked for me thanks but by accdent i did an update it put me back to ofw now when ever i try the magic memory stick installer it says dos low can u please help me?
hey i buy this from dealextreme i used on my phat psp and works, But now i want to used on a slim psp will it works or i have to buy a slim pandora .please answer.
that means that there is a problem with the programs on the memory stick. try formatting it and doing the magic memory stick again. by the way, it doesnt work properly on vista.
wen i go to usb mode it just says please wait... it not go onto usb mode? can i do it thru a card reader? and also wen it says to enter a disk drive wen i typ I it says u havnt chosen any disk drive pleas try again:(
the magic memory stick does need to be made first because when you insert the tool battery, it boots from the data present on the memory stick.
you can run umds the same way as you do with official firmware. m33 custom firmware is exactly the same as official firmware except that it has a couple of extra features including the ability to run homebrew.
it should work the same way with a psp slim and slim tool battery. it may not be exactly the same because i used option 1 in the video.
but im not sure whether a 4gb memory stick will work; some people have tried with a 4gb and say that it doesnt work. i used a 2gb memory stick in my video.
yes, you do need to downgrade first to put custom firmware on. but the 4th option on the installer will downgrade the psp and install 3.71m33 automatically saving some trouble. but in the video, i downgraded my psp to 1.50 and upgraded manually as shown in my other video
if you choose option 4 on the total newbi easy installer, it will also install 3.71 m33 custom firmware on your psp and then you can upgrade normally from there. i dont know what nitepr is though so you will have to try that out for yourself.
the only time i had that trouble was because i was trying to charge it up with my usb port on my laptop. i plugged it into a standard power outlet and it charged. you are using the right type of battery for your psp arent you? if you are then i dont know what the problem is, sorry.
I have tried to charge up my TOOL battery on my psp the same way that you had shown in your video. However my psp doesn't show an orange light to show that the battery is charging and the psp does not show that there is a battery in the psp.
they dont have to be the official sony one, i used a sandisk pro duo 2gb in this video and it works fine. it only needs to be a memory stick PRO duo and magicgate compatible. if it has the magicgate symbol on the card, then it is magicgate compatible.
After you installed the cfw and everything with the 4GB memory stick can you still use that 4GB memory stick to install stuff on your psp without formatting it?
or do you have to format it and then you can use it like normal?
I heard someone say that once you have used it to install cfw it will not work ever again...
im not sure whether you can keep the cfw stuff on it and still use it as a normal memory stick, you might be able to. but what i did was i formatted it first then used it as normal. there is no reason to keep the cfw stuff on it unless you want to downgrade somebody else's psp
it will have the same kernal as the custom firmware you have installed. if you want the1.50 kernal as well, you will need to install the 1.50 kernal add-on
I have the slim psp with official sony 4.05 firmware on it.
Therefore instead of choosing option 1 (Fat Pandora) cant I just go straight to option 4, the universal unbricker with cfw 3.71 m33... which will do the same thing as option 1 and install a higher custom firmware for me?
if you have a psp slim, i would recommend that do use option 4. but it might not be exactly the same as option 1; i havent tried option 4 yet because i dont have a psp slim. but yes, it will put custom firmware straight onto the psp.
my psp is not bricked at all it works fine but when ever i start it up the sony psps eboot does not show up and i cant change the theme eboots thats why
sorry if i havent been able to give a fast reply but i have been on holiday for a week. anyway, you may be able to turn the psp off while it is charging but i havent tried it. i always keep the psp on when i charge it.
you know when you're charging the datel tool battery do you turn the psp off when you're charging it. and do you think this will work on version 4.5. sorry if repeat your self but i need be sure. ive already ordered datel tool battery is due to arrive soon. plz reply
doing the option 1 (the one i did) gives you sony official firmware 1.50. you can then upgrade to custom firmware from then. if you choose option 4, it will give you custom firmware 3.71 m33. but i havent tried this before.
absolutely brilliant, went to amazon got a psp datel tool battery for 13 quid and followed your tutorial (didnt work first time coz it was on vista stupid me)
But yeah i have 2 psps now both on 3.90m33 thanks!!!!
that is odd. try taking the battery out and re-inserting it (that is take the battery out, put the regular battery back in, turn the psp on and then swap batteries)
Do you now know if the datel fat will work with the slim? I bought one by mistake. I can't seem to charge the battery and i can't complete the downgrade, the psp won't turn on..
some people have tried the fat battery on slims and have said that it works, but just pokes out the back of the psp slim. i havent tried it becuase i dont own a psp slim.
make sure you turn the psp on with the regular battery inserted and when it is on, put in the tool battery and leave the psp on.
DOES THIS WORK WITH A PSP 3001 AND CAN IT UNBRICK IT

Do the memory cards have to be original to make the magic card thingy, because I have an Sandisk pro duo card but i dont think its the offical one...
On my PSP Slim it says unknown for magicgate information...
sebasteen 3 years ago
they dont have to be the official sony one, i used a sandisk pro duo 2gb in this video and it works fine. it only needs to be a memory stick PRO duo and magicgate compatible. if it has the magicgate symbol on the card, then it is magicgate compatible.

After you installed the cfw and everything with the 4GB memory stick can you still use that 4GB memory stick to install stuff on your psp without formatting it?
or do you have to format it and then you can use it like normal?
I heard someone say that once you have used it to install cfw it will not work ever again...
sebasteen 3 years ago
im not sure whether you can keep the cfw stuff on it and still use it as a normal memory stick, you might be able to. but what i did was i formatted it first then used it as normal. there is no reason to keep the cfw stuff on it unless you want to downgrade somebody else's psp

Last question dude lol
I have the 4GB SanDisk Pro Duo memory card, so will this work when creating the magic card or does it have to be below 4GB like 2GB or 1GB...
sebasteen 3 years ago
i havent tried it with a 4GB memory stick but i think it doesnt work. i used a 2GB memory stick pro duo.
WiiMasterDS 3 years ago
I have just done it with a 4GB memory stick and it does work :)

Thanks for the reply.
Also by choosing option 4 what kernal will my psp have? example 1.50....
or will it be the same as the cfw i install...
sebasteen 3 years ago
it will have the same kernal as the custom firmware you have installed. if you want the1.50 kernal as well, you will need to install the 1.50 kernal add-on

If option 4 (the universal unbricker) is not what i need, which option would you suggest me to use for my psp slim and why?
thanks
sebasteen 3 years ago
Hey dude,
I have the slim psp with official sony 4.05 firmware on it.
Therefore instead of choosing option 1 (Fat Pandora) cant I just go straight to option 4, the universal unbricker with cfw 3.71 m33... which will do the same thing as option 1 and install a higher custom firmware for me?
Plz reply asap
thanks.
sebasteen 3 years ago
if you have a psp slim, i would recommend that do use option 4. but it might not be exactly the same as option 1; i havent tried option 4 yet because i dont have a psp slim. but yes, it will put custom firmware straight onto the psp.

yasserkhan96 3 years ago

if i downgrade it will it be back to normal and will i be able to see the eboot when the psp starts up
yasserkhan96 3 years ago
yes, downgrading recovers your psp from being bricked (does not start up when the on switch is pressed)

wat custom firmware does this give you on your psp.
burgerking220 3 years ago
doing the option 1 (the one i did) gives you sony official firmware 1.50. you can then upgrade to custom firmware from then. if you choose option 4, it will give you custom firmware 3.71 m33. but i havent tried this before.

the battery goes green after one minute and its on 0%
pahnicolas 3 years ago
Same here. So no, it didn't work though the battery did charge for a short while. Why does it go green when the battery icon is empty?
electroflux 3 years ago
that is odd. try taking the battery out and re-inserting it (that is take the battery out, put the regular battery back in, turn the psp on and then swap batteries)
WiiMasterDS 3 years ago
my psp said the battery charge is complet but on the top right there is no 3 bricks. and it daid 0% .help
pahnicolas 3 years ago
make sure that the battery is inserted while the psp is on and leave the psp on while it is charging.
WiiMasterDS 3 years ago
Do you now know if the datel fat will work with the slim? I bought one by mistake. I can't seem to charge the battery and i can't complete the downgrade, the psp won't turn on..
electroflux 3 years ago
some people have tried the fat battery on slims and have said that it works, but just pokes out the back of the psp slim. i havent tried it becuase i dont own a psp slim.
make sure you turn the psp on with the regular battery inserted and when it is on, put in the tool battery and leave the psp on.
