  • DOES THIS WORK WITH A PSP 3001 AND CAN IT UNBRICK IT

  • @SwaggaBrandZ the battery is supposed to work with all psp's (except the psp go and the vita) and be able to unbrick them. but i have never tried it on a psp 3001 so i cannot confirm this.

  • will thees files work on any memory card and for slim?

  • @bluelighting112 i have not tested them on psp slim myself but the files should work fine. there is a slim downgrader option in the program if you are not sure about using the universal one i use in this video (but the universal downgrader does work on psp slim).

  • all i need is the battery and a magic memory stick

  • @flipside1985fuck yes, a tool battery and a regular memory stick (which you put the programs on yourself as shown in the video)

  • @WiiMasterDS cool

  • I have the Orange version

    Is that compatible with slim?

  • it should be, it will just stick out of the psp a bit

  • @MasterDragonfableX Oh But still compatibe right?

  • can i buy it from the uk get ship to usa

  • do we need to get a new battery?

  • yes, you will need to get one of these batteries and use it to go to 1.50 firmware.

  • vista users: download a program called psp tool and format your memory stick with that then upload that program back onto your psp and then install the ipl with that

  • will this work if i use psp grader

  • yeah it should do. the datel tool battery is a pandora's battery and therefore should work with any programs that need a pandora's battery.

  • PLEASE HELP. can you install m33 instead of 1.50 firmware on the magic memory stick program. (for slim?)

  • sure, just choose option 4 on the total newbi easy installer menu. this is the "Universal Unbricker" option and will install 3.71m33 onto your psp.

  • thanks but does it do anything else because it is called the unbricker will it do something undeseired?

  • no, it should do the same thing as shown in the video except also install 3.71m33

  • Thanks for your help BUT I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM. And its a big one. it wont charge at all the psp doesn't recognise the battery and no orange charge light comes on. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • yeah i have heard of that problem before.

sorry but i am not sure how to fix it. it happened to me once and the reason was that i was using a USB cable to charge it instead of the PSP power cable. all i can suggest is that you try changing your method of charging your psp but it probably wont make a difference.

there is a chance that your battery is broken but that probably isnt the case.

try searching for your problem on google or try contacting Datel. sorry about not being much help

  • Don't worry its ok. I have been on the computer 4 hours straight and still no luck. nothing ever turns out right in my life. :(

  • lol sorry to here that mate.

  • I emailed Datel and no reply. The buggers aren't going to help anyway!

  • yeah, they probably wont reply for a long time (if ever at all)

  • oh and i have a camera that reads mspd's so i can still put files on it

  • oh sry it's only for psp slim :/ my bad

  • this battery isnt for psp slim. its made for normal psp. although it can work on psp slim.

  • no i meant i had a link for a new total newbie easy installer but that one only works for psp slim but the apparently the comment isn't here =P

  • lol ok

  • can u use this to downgrade any psp? like

    5.51 :) ???

  • as long as the psp is of the psp-1000 or psp-2000 series, then yes.

  • except for 1 model of psp 2000 that is because of a motherboard revision, googling will answer which one exactly

  • orangy red lmao, pink?

  • work totalnewbi easy installer on windows vista?

  • no, the installer does not work on vista

  • link won´t work

  • it seems as if all the links to the totalnewbi easyinstaller have been removed. the link in the video description points to a winrar file which contains a text file which contains a MegaUpload link. But this link is broken too.

If anyone can find a link to a working version of the totalnewbi easyinstaller, please tell me. I am looking as well.

  • yo fam

    the link isnt working......

can you please fix that ASAP

  • thats odd, the link seems to work fine for me?!?

  • see my reply to Hamm3rJack's comment

  • Hey about your TOOL battery...i have hacked mine fine but is there any way this battery could be used normally?

  • you cannot use a TOOL battery normally because it forces the psp to boot from the memory stick instead of the flash memory when you turn the psp on with it inserted

  • hmm yeah but somebody must have found a way around it o.0

  • im not sure about that. you will have to find out for yourself :)

  • Yeh...damn in not smart enough...i think that though because you can softmod a normal battery so it becomes pandora and maybe you could soft mod a tool battery o.0...or maybe there is a little program in the root of the memory stick when the PSP boots off the memory stick this program will tell it to boot off the XMB...i hope there is because that would mean i have 3 batteries =D

  • i would have thought that datel would have prevented people from softmodding it back to a normal battery but then again, i dont know for sure.

  • hmm yeh...its too confusing o.0 i nee to be brainier lol

  • lol

  • now theyre in red, black, white, blue, and grey i think

  • you cant get it in red well i'll see i ordered 2 one for fat and one for slim

  • i suppose the old models were red but i dont know. i just ordered it from amazon and it seemed to be red.

  • i need to know if i can hack my psp 3000 with that plz help thanx mate, p.s i'm a londoner, oh yh if you know anything on the pandora battery creator the actual datel item please inform me thanks

  • as far as i know, there is no way currently to hack the psp 3000

  • well there are a few ways but you need to buy gripshift or a special battery for the psp oh well too bad well thanks for the info

  • YOU FUCKING RETARD IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO WILL STOP SONY PSP GAMES FUCK YOU,just kidding will this apply to the lite blue digital battery it says on amazon only service mode for 2000 model is that true cause i trashed my psp battery but when i opened it up it was in a different layout, i found the instructions for that layout but that was the thing the battery didnt have the chip to cut so when i put in the battery it wont work ,hacking the 3000 model until i read that at the sellers at amazon

  • some people have theres hacked

  • Question. For now I just want to create a magic memory stick for in case I ever end up bricking my PSP. Using the pandora program thingy to do so, does the tool battery have to be in the PSP during installation, or can I just keep my normal battery in there for that process?

  • no, you must make the magic memory stick with the normal psp battery inserted.

  • does this work on psp 3000

  • as far as i know, there is no way to hack a psp-3000 so far

  • i'm joking sorry

  • lol no problem

  • so ur gay

  • no im not.

  • u got a gay voice

  • Lol, man, he doesn't. And not only that but, guess what, calling somebody gay isn't an insult! You fail. Gay people are just that. Homosexual. There's nothing wrong with that, you know.

  • Datel Tool Battery does work on fat psp i tried it.

  • you can get the battery from codejunkies website, which is the official page you get it from. you can also get it from amazon

  • im not sure. its supposed to work with any psp but i dont know whether it works with those motherboards.

  • I have PSP Slim so I typed in option 3 in the setup for the MMS. I have finished but when I put in my tool battery I do not get the screen up what tells me what to press to do whatever. My original PSP Firmware is 5.02.

  • is the magic memory stick already inserted in the psp when you insert the tool battery? if it is, what type of memory stick are you using?

  • every1 on google type magic memory stick creator for windows vista and there u go vista users

  • help it took me right You are about to format dirve k after i put in the drive letter

  • are you using windows vista to run the total newbi easy installer. if you are, then that is the reason why it isnt working properly. you have to run the installer on windows xp

  • hey i did all the things u did it worked fine and when i restarted my psp a blue screen came up with diff lang. and i clciked O and now my psp is version 1.50 is that ok?

  • if is in english (or whatever your preferred language is) and is at 1.50 firmware, then it should be fine

  • ok thnks alot!! ur the best i found ur vid on how to get cfw i have it now and a few games xD thnks!! hope u get really rich and lucky in life

    one piece FTW!!!!

  • yes it does eork in a slim psp

  • buddie, your video was a major help, ive hacked psp fat which was originaly 5.01 firmware and im now running 3.90m33-2 along with the kernel addon, also got the nes emulator etc. and a load of psp iso games :) just wanted to ask you if this tutorial runs the same process with the psp slim? do you know.. as ive got a psp-slim data tool battery aswell.

  • if you choose the slim downgrader, i assume it is the same.

  • hey i got a magic memory stick it came with the tool battery do i need 2 make the magic memory stick still?

  • i dont know what is on the memory stick so i cant tell if it is a good idea to make the memory stick or not. if you want to risk it, you can try the memory stick.

  • Wiimaster i tested it with 5.01 and all went well.. its a great tool. and thanks for all the info, its much appreciated thank you..

  • I see that u have a phat, how u tried it on a psp-3000?

  • no i dont own a psp 3000

  • i used this its the best!!!! andoption 4 for the slim works amazingly!!! it worked on all the slims i did it to even theones on version 4.05

  • where can i find the link to make a magic stick..please help me,coz i cant find it

  • the link is on the video description to the right of the video

  • is it gonna be work on version 5.01

  • its supposed to work on all custom firmware but i havent tried it on 5.01 before

  • mate does it matter what firmwre we have? my psp slim is 5.01 does it matter? forgive my ignorance mate.. im an old fart who is learning slowly but surly lol

  • the pandoras battery (datel tool) is supposed to downgrade any psp firmware. but i havent tested it on 5.01 firmware before so if you want to risk it, then please do tell me how it went.

  • Dude! your like the best ever! can you please make a video how to make a pandoras battery and a magic memory stick? + do you have Vista?

  • sorry but i dont know how to make a pandoras battery. i just bought the datel tool battery; its not too expensive. this video shows how to make a magic memory stick.

in the video, i use xp but i only have vista now.

  • the easy thing is to make an pandoras battery. but i got a hard time to make a mig memory stick. (Im on Vista to, so you could help Vista users) =)

  • can a 1Gb sandisk memory stick be used for this???????????

  • a 1gb sandisk memory stick should work fine

  • this worked for me thanks but by accdent i did an update it put me back to ofw now when ever i try the magic memory stick installer it says dos low can u please help me?

  • sorry but what does it say exactly on the screen and when?

  • Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make the video. Really helpful, cheers mate.

  • hey i buy this from dealextreme i used on my phat psp and works, But now i want to used on a slim psp will it works or i have to buy a slim pandora .please answer.

  • i dont know because i havent tried it on a psp slim before. some people have said that it works on psp slims but pokes out of the battery slot

  • loveformagic it works mate but it pokes out.. the back cover wont fit back on so you have to hold the battery in manually..

  • hey my psp is bricked now and when i use this to un-brick it doesnt work:(

  • what happens when you try to do it?

  • it doesnt turn on even in recovery, and the psp LED flashes green then goes off please help and thanks

  • when you insert the tool battery, does the psp go on by itself?

  • ye but it doesnt seem to read the mem card

  • that means that there is a problem with the programs on the memory stick. try formatting it and doing the magic memory stick again. by the way, it doesnt work properly on vista.

  • Can i use a vista to do this

  • no, this does not work on vista

  • listen i have got 3.40oe custom firmware

i wanted to ask can all games work on this firmware or do i have to upgrade to play the latest games out for psp

  • sorry but im not sure because i have never used oe custom firmware before.

  • hey mate when i put in my pandora battery in to charge it doesnt charge

    whats wrong with it

  • are you charging by USB port or by power outlet?

  • ty very much, i used an xp laptop and its worked!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

  • no it aint....NOT AT ALL!

  • all going smoothly now lol

  • wen i go to usb mode it just says please wait... it not go onto usb mode? can i do it thru a card reader? and also wen it says to enter a disk drive wen i typ I it says u havnt chosen any disk drive pleas try again:(

  • my battery came 2day il be doing this wen its charged!:)

  • I dont have a TOOL yet but im gonna get one and this really helps. I subscribe.

  • Worked perfect.. Thanks!!

  • u use a 4gb?

  • Very late reply but I just used an 8GB (Magic Gate supported). :D

  • ok can u answer these 2 questions, do u need to make a magic mem stick first? and how do u run umds with cfw? ty so much!! fav and subscribed!!! =]

  • the magic memory stick does need to be made first because when you insert the tool battery, it boots from the data present on the memory stick.

you can run umds the same way as you do with official firmware. m33 custom firmware is exactly the same as official firmware except that it has a couple of extra features including the ability to run homebrew.

  • thank you SO MUCH!! im gonna watch this whilst doing it to mine, it works the same with the slim psp and slim TOOL battery?

and umm u can do this on a 4gb card right? cos ur card looks exactly the same as my 4gb one, is ures 4gb? ty agen so much!

  • it should work the same way with a psp slim and slim tool battery. it may not be exactly the same because i used option 1 in the video.

but im not sure whether a 4gb memory stick will work; some people have tried with a 4gb and say that it doesnt work. i used a 2gb memory stick in my video.

  • and how do u run umds with cfw?

  • do you need to downgrade first to put cfw on with this battery or not?

  • yes, you do need to downgrade first to put custom firmware on. but the 4th option on the installer will downgrade the psp and install 3.71m33 automatically saving some trouble. but in the video, i downgraded my psp to 1.50 and upgraded manually as shown in my other video

  • whats the fourth option?

  • the 4th option will unbrick a psp slim or phat (if it is bricked) and install 3.71m33 custom firmware without the need of getting any extra files.

  • can you download cfw directly to the psp with this and use nitepr? pls tell me man! (Nitepr is a cheating thingy for psp games=)

  • if you choose option 4 on the total newbi easy installer, it will also install 3.71 m33 custom firmware on your psp and then you can upgrade normally from there. i dont know what nitepr is though so you will have to try that out for yourself.

  • No difference, it feels quite light, is that normal? Any other ideas how to make it charge up?

    Thanks :D

  • the only time i had that trouble was because i was trying to charge it up with my usb port on my laptop. i plugged it into a standard power outlet and it charged. you are using the right type of battery for your psp arent you? if you are then i dont know what the problem is, sorry.

  • Ok, never mind..

    Thanks for the help!! :D

  • I have tried to charge up my TOOL battery on my psp the same way that you had shown in your video. However my psp doesn't show an orange light to show that the battery is charging and the psp does not show that there is a battery in the psp.

    Can you help?

    Thanks in advance. :D

  • try plugging the psp into a different power outlet

  • Do the memory cards have to be original to make the magic card thingy, because I have an Sandisk pro duo card but i dont think its the offical one...

On my PSP Slim it says unknown for magicgate information...

  • they dont have to be the official sony one, i used a sandisk pro duo 2gb in this video and it works fine. it only needs to be a memory stick PRO duo and magicgate compatible. if it has the magicgate symbol on the card, then it is magicgate compatible.

  • After you installed the cfw and everything with the 4GB memory stick can you still use that 4GB memory stick to install stuff on your psp without formatting it?

or do you have to format it and then you can use it like normal?

I heard someone say that once you have used it to install cfw it will not work ever again...

  • im not sure whether you can keep the cfw stuff on it and still use it as a normal memory stick, you might be able to. but what i did was i formatted it first then used it as normal. there is no reason to keep the cfw stuff on it unless you want to downgrade somebody else's psp

  • Last question dude lol

I have the 4GB SanDisk Pro Duo memory card, so will this work when creating the magic card or does it have to be below 4GB like 2GB or 1GB...

  • i havent tried it with a 4GB memory stick but i think it doesnt work. i used a 2GB memory stick pro duo.

  • I have just done it with a 4GB memory stick and it does work :)

  • Works with a 4GB. I've just done it :)

  • Thanks for the reply.

Also by choosing option 4 what kernal will my psp have? example 1.50....

or will it be the same as the cfw i install...

  • it will have the same kernal as the custom firmware you have installed. if you want the1.50 kernal as well, you will need to install the 1.50 kernal add-on

  • If option 4 (the universal unbricker) is not what i need, which option would you suggest me to use for my psp slim and why?

    thanks

  • Hey dude,

I have the slim psp with official sony 4.05 firmware on it.

Therefore instead of choosing option 1 (Fat Pandora) cant I just go straight to option 4, the universal unbricker with cfw 3.71 m33... which will do the same thing as option 1 and install a higher custom firmware for me?

    Plz reply asap

    thanks.

  • if you have a psp slim, i would recommend that do use option 4. but it might not be exactly the same as option 1; i havent tried option 4 yet because i dont have a psp slim. but yes, it will put custom firmware straight onto the psp.

  • my psp is not bricked at all it works fine but when ever i start it up the sony psps eboot does not show up and i cant change the theme eboots thats why

  • yo man when i start my psp up i cant see the psp eboot

if i downgrade it will it be back to normal and will i be able to see the eboot when the psp starts up

  • yes, downgrading recovers your psp from being bricked (does not start up when the on switch is pressed)

  • man that bullshit downloads so slow its pissin me off!!!!!!!

  • omg thanks man you helped a lot. it worked

  • sorry if i havent been able to give a fast reply but i have been on holiday for a week. anyway, you may be able to turn the psp off while it is charging but i havent tried it. i always keep the psp on when i charge it.

  • thanks 4 helping

  • you know when you're charging the datel tool battery do you turn the psp off when you're charging it. and do you think this will work on version 4.5. sorry if repeat your self but i need be sure. ive already ordered datel tool battery is due to arrive soon. plz reply

  • wat custom firmware does this give you on your psp.

  • doing the option 1 (the one i did) gives you sony official firmware 1.50. you can then upgrade to custom firmware from then. if you choose option 4, it will give you custom firmware 3.71 m33. but i havent tried this before.

  • Excellent VID, VERY easy to follow and worked first time. If you can't follow this and get it right your a dumb ass

  • when you by this battery is it already a pandora battery

  • yes

  • absolutely brilliant, went to amazon got a psp datel tool battery for 13 quid and followed your tutorial (didnt work first time coz it was on vista stupid me)

But yeah i have 2 psps now both on 3.90m33 thanks!!!!

  • hot wire is better no charging you use regular batteries. thanks for the guide

  • this worked perfectly, my first time.

i charged it with a Sony PSP-191, great charger, fast too.

  • Thanx you helped a lot i've finnaly got a psp v1.50 ta

  • my battery does goes to the menu but just wont charge

  • what type of psp and what type of datel tool battery are you using?

  • i tryed it steal dint work

  • the battery goes green after one minute and its on 0%

  • Same here. So no, it didn't work though the battery did charge for a short while. Why does it go green when the battery icon is empty?

  • that is odd. try taking the battery out and re-inserting it (that is take the battery out, put the regular battery back in, turn the psp on and then swap batteries)

  • my psp said the battery charge is complet but on the top right there is no 3 bricks. and it daid 0% .help

  • make sure that the battery is inserted while the psp is on and leave the psp on while it is charging.

  • Do you now know if the datel fat will work with the slim? I bought one by mistake. I can't seem to charge the battery and i can't complete the downgrade, the psp won't turn on..

  • some people have tried the fat battery on slims and have said that it works, but just pokes out the back of the psp slim. i havent tried it becuase i dont own a psp slim.

make sure you turn the psp on with the regular battery inserted and when it is on, put in the tool battery and leave the psp on.
