With that said, I also agree that the movie studios really need to come up with some new horror ideas and stop remaking old classics or foreign horror flicks (Quarantine, anyone?) Originality really needs to be the name of the game.
I agree 100% with you Tioiia. When i heard Ledger was playing the Joker i was eh, he cant top Nicholson. He did. Why not give this guy a chance. He seems to be aiming for a more sadistic Freddy and dropping the humor. Although the humor will be missed by some. I think this guy can pull it off. Honestly, I don't see why everyone isn't willing to give a new actor a chance behind the makeup. Yes, I totally understand that Robert Englund IS Freddy. The man created one of the most iconic horror characters in existence, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of someone picking up the role and doing a good job with it. I for one want to see what they come up with. If I end up eating my words, so be it. I still want a new nightmare.

good news then.they said themselves that its supposed to be a full on scary movie and Freddy will be terrifying with no comedy to him or witty one liners although some like "Welcome to prime time bitch!" were priceless but o well the new guy may be good as Freddy but never as good as Robert cause like the movie says he was THE bad ass mother fucker.

OMG '-_- another remake? They just leave the classics alone and create new horror icons... Its really pathetic to see that writers have no inspiration anymore... eh. i realy think that any change possible would be fantastic. maybe making the freddie movies scary would be a start. as the movie's progress they get worse and worse to the point where freddie is using a power glove?. plur robert wouldnt know how to scare his new modern audience. in my personal opinion freddie had 2 much script and wasnt given enough power in the movies. like how he would fal back at being shot. shouldnt happen. a horror character needs to be all powerful till the end

remakes are the only suitable way to get these movies back on track to where they should have ended. Halloween ended ok...but Jason ended with Jason X...and Nightmare ended with Wes Craven's New Nightmare...crap beyond crap as far as movies go. (I dont count FVJ because it wasnt strictly Jason or Freddy) These remakes are making icons like Jason, Freddy and Michael back into what they should be...psychopathic homicidal legends. Finally Jason, Freddy and Michael are not going to be jokes anymore.
