They forgot to mention the most remarkable characteristic feature of the portuguese water dog. Their paws have webbed toes! (like ducks!) That`s why they`re such good smimmers.

I have a portuguese water dog and love him.

They`re very good around children.

You do need to walk them frequently, or they`ll get stressed and bark a lot.

They`re in view of extinction, so maybe all this popularity will boost their population.

It's been my experience that blacks usually don't swim much and don't like dogs. I walk my Labrador often - and whenever a black person walks toward us, they cross the street or move waaaay out of the way.
