  • jack white = ahead of our times

  • @reddeadbread blues has been around the early 1900s, im just saying this is very similar, its not like a new concept of music

  • I would bet a lot of the people who like this song dont get it

  • Jack wrote this about a girl that wouldnt put out

  • wow

  • Whenever you want to bust out a tasty lick on your guitar, white stripes songs are the best to play..

  • Strawberries have instinct?

  • @transfrmpnguinz Yeah, I thought the same thing. The riff is cool enough I just let it slide....know whats not cool? Assuming you care about my opinion, sorry in advance...im soul crushingly lonely and live with my parents.

  • the dude plays till his fingers bleedand then some

  • why the hell jack is not doing sth like this on a new record ... i am sick of all these collaborations ... PLEASE JACK WHITE SHOW TO THE WORLD WHAT ROCK N

    ROLL MEANS

  • Well crickets, ants, pigs, plants, flies, frogs, birds, bugs, dogs, bees, chickens, canaries and even the strawberries get it. I get it, but five poor bastards just didn't get it.

  • @SolidShadow8 haha xD made my day

  • @SolidShadow8 Another three lame dip-shits didn't get it either . . .

  • I love this song. Makes me want to be aggressively loving towards someone... : )

  • @whacknasty yeah, maybe even against their will...depends on how asleep they are at the time, no eye contact means it never happened.

  • @redbandfilms Lol, somehow I fully understand and agree

  • Two people didn't get it.

  • this is baby making music

  • my favorite colors

  • Ahhhhh, ive loved the white stripes for ages... but science of sleep brought me back here :)

  • 2 people don't get it

  • mmmm blues baby =) love jack

  • meg white kind of sounds like courtney love

  • @veverzay vete a la mierda

  • jack white is the shit.

  • @defsownds when I first saw that comment I thought you said 'jack white is shit' and nearly had a heart atack. Phew.

  • So fucking raw.. LOVE IT.

  • IM ROXO THE ROCK AND ROLL CLOWN AND I DID C-C-C-COCAIN

  • My favorite track of them, everyone who got to this band from Seven Nations ask himself what this should. Bluesrock is after Heavy Metal the best rock.

  • in french we call it "l'essence", simplement pur

  • yummmyy.. if a guitar could have sex.. this is what it sounds like..

  • okay okay, who is the one person that disliked this? what was he thinking? he is all alone up there...

  • @StrogenZalec9456

There's always someone who's got to swim against the tide. Don't worry, I'm guessing that this fool is actually really liking this.

  • EVEN THE KANGAROOS GET IT!!!

  • even the whores get!

  • @StoreBoughtBones13 I agree that the documentary is amazing and I gained a new found respect for Jack White. He is truly someone expressing themselves purely but I find it very unfair to talk down on The Edge. While I do not personally enjoy his music i seriously respect his gusto and drive. He too is a musician giving it all they have.

  • soooooooo, sooooooooooooooo sexy :)

  • 1 person doesn't get it

  • I'm just glad their is still good music left in this world...thank you white stripes.

  • reminiscent of Led Zeppelin a little bit

  • I dont care for much of their music, but this is a great song :)

  • His music turns me on. :)

  • science of sleep

  • stop annalyzing, its not who or why somone diggs jack and megs music/art. If you digg cool if you dont eff off doesnt matter to jack he does it simple because he doesent care about whooing you, he does care when hes re-introducing the old blues players and such to a new audience but not for his sake, but for the sake of the the pasts unnoticed MUSIC/ART that it isnt forgotten. Any fool can tell you theres no making someone love if they dont. You enjoy it thats what counts.

  • I love the White stripes

  • IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND THE HOLY AND SPIRIT AMEN (make the cross from forehead to right shoulder to left to chest)

  • This is in the movie Science of Sleep.

  • Oh blues guitar (:

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh I soooo get it :)

  • Comment removed

  • he is the neil young of his day... simple riffs.. simple solos but yet so great

  • makes my fucking hair stand

  • Damn, why is this song so underrated? One of the most "feelful" Stripes songs for me.

Can't wait to see White Stripes in Moscow or at least Jack with one of his bands.

  • fissionable.

  • Clapton and Jack White should collaborate! This reminds me of Cream for some odd reason...Clapton should perform with Eric Clapton! Two blues legends! Anyone thumbs up for this agreement?

  • I loved this song in science of sleep

  • look up "in my time of dying" from it might get loud... Jack and Jimmy KILL it... how anyone could say Jack isnt good either doesnt have ears or doesnt understand the guitar

  • People saying this sounds like led zep, can you imagine how cool it would be if you had bonzo doing the drums lol? no offence to meg white but bonzo is damn cool.

  • @TheMTFaces fucking right that would be awesome

  • @TheMTFaces check out the documovie "It Might Get Loud".

fucking gnarly, has Jack White, The Edge from U2 and Jimmy Page..

    all just chillin and jammin.

  • @TheMTFaces White Stripes + Bonzo = The Black Keys

  • la science de revês ♥

  • Ah for fucks sake, none of you get it, none of you... Its sad realli. What Jack is really trying to do is to transfer feeling the simple raw feeling. He aint no lyricalist no guitar player. Sure his playing and singing is bloody excellent but man. Its about Feeling. Hes nailed it

and nobody understands.Just listen and feel.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar I love the raw emotion you put into your sentences. You truely understand music. I honestly do listen and feel for the music. Then sometimes I may further analyze what the artist is saying, but I must say Jack White is one of the few artists left who put themselves right in the music.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar no he's a guitar player. plain and simple.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar dude exactly... if you get time dude you should see this movie if you can ever get your hands on it. its called " it might get loud" it will change your view toward music haha, and this guy here is like the biggest inspiration to me right now

  • @xPerniciousx

I just watched that like three days ago. Awesome flick. Shit, I mean, I would've loved to have been The Edge. Jammin' with two legends, lol.

  • @xPerniciousx

Of course, I was referring to Pagey and White as the two legends, lol.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar He is a fucking lyricist and guitarist, you can appreciate it as something visceral,I'm sure you're supposed to, but there's a lot of thought been put into it. A lot of being tasteful is about showing restraint, and you don't get that from your gut.

  • @lexi41269 i dunno, i find its your gut that tells you what not to play so i tend to disagree with you to some extent.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar well yes of course it's about feeling but so is any song taken from the world of blues...

  • @HendrixBassGuitar *rolls eyes* I love every White Stripes song but you should tell other people what they should get out of their music. Oh well, maybe I am the one that's wrong? We should judge anyone who likes this song for the wrong reasons? I am more for get what you can from anything you can.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar You're such a conceeded fag, I bet you finger your vagina while looking at your own reflection.

  • @KurtCantrell Of course I do. Thats exactly what im about.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar amen brother!

  • @HendrixBassGuitar EVEN THE STRAWBERRIES GET IT... so why don't you?

  • @HendrixBassGuitar ha why not complicate the crap out of it to make my boring life more interesting

  • @HendrixBassGuitar pretty sure this song is about sex...

  • @HendrixBassGuitar That's exactly the point. It separates the amazing artists from the sub-par ones. Music since it's creation has always been about passion, about feeling. Apparently, that translation was lost at sea nowadays. But there are the few of us left who still believe in it.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar yes i agree in the just need to feel it part. but jack white is a fucking amazing guitar player!!! lets not forget he was #17 on greatest guitarists ever list. do some more looking around bro.

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 Just because it says that doesn't mean he simply is the 17th best guitar player. Not everyone has the same taste. I can hardly even believe you just said 'do some more looking around bro.' lol

    Great song :]

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 not to mention, he's also an incredibly lyricist.

  • @FlyingNarwhal12

That list says nothing, they also made one for bassists and they put McCartney in the top 10 and they excluded bassists like Victor Wooten (or Marcus Miller, on of them was missing) and they are 10 times better then McShitty. Yes he was part of a huge band but the bass parts he played are nothing compared Victors and so is his technique. I'm not saying Jack doesn't deserve that #17 spot, but just don't follow lists like these, they are more about commercial succes.

  • @MonkeyyDG yes i agree. its more about the respect though. and honestly i think he would be up there top 30 er higher. yes it goes off success but when ya really think about thats how people are being viewed in todays world. not by time and hard work like many great artists out there, but how theyre looked at by the population/community based on commercial success. its kinda sad.

    still love jack white though

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 To be honest, I don't think theres been a guy in the last 10 years who has made people want to pick up the guitar more than Jack. When you think who has done the most for the instrument in the 00's, it has to be him, so for that alone, it ranks him quite highly.

  • @andyscoot43 damn straight man

  • @HendrixBassGuitar and you don´t get it,too.

this song is about how everything on this planet becomes One with it´s environment except for humans, only we struggle to find our purpose in life.

plants and animals know exactly what they have to do, they just follow their instincts, we follow reason and need to evaluate situations.

  • @HendrixBassGuitar so now u no him perfectly

  • zeppelin much?

  • EVEN THE CHIKENS DO IT

  • the white stripes rule, nuff said

  • Comment removed

  • oh, i get it.

  • unbefrickinlievable song

  • It's quite sad. Rock music is in such a sorry state these days that mediocre bands like the White Stripes are viewed as the second coming.

Hopefully, someone new will come along soon and pick up where bands like Alice in Chains left off in the early-mid 90s.

  • I've listened to several of their songs, but I still don't understand the appeal. I never stated that Jack White was a bad musician, just mediocre. His ex-wife, however, is a terrible drummer.

That fact that they're popular today is simply testament to the fact that most mainstream music these days is utter crap. 15-20 years ago, a band like the White Stripes would have never received any play time on the radio, because there were still much better bands out there.

  • @remmyjable Seriously?? Thats crap.

  • @remmyjable you commited the musical sin of "not getting it". you can't compare bands. music appeal is subjective. if the white stripes makes people feel great then that is what matters. the BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD IS THE MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU BELIEVE THERE IS NONE BETTER. meg white simply frames jack's eclectic trips.

  • like you would know ... you were probably in diapers or something... ha.. children talking about music like they know... go listen to hendrix if you wanna hear some good music

  • My profile is wrong. I'm 29, not 19, and I've been listening to AIC since early adolescence. With the username "BOLDASLOVE", I assume you're a big Hendrix fan. Hendrix is great of course, but I was referring to rock music that's a bit more modern.

  • As for your other comment regarding Nirvana, I do admit that Cobain was a better lyricist than Layne/Cantrell. However, Staley was one of the most dynamic and introspective vocalists of all time. Cantrell's work as a guitarist is far more exceptional than anything released by Nirvana. There's simply no comparison. Plus, I never really considered AIC to be grunge.

  • well now youve proved to me that you know music... i withdraw my comments

  • @remmyjable again you put your foot in your mouth. this is something you can't feel or touch. you can't compare.

  • Maybe you should grow up and look for more cause also in this times there are good musicions. A good guitarist makes his own style of playing and his own sound. Jimi hendrix did that but jack white also did that and also josh homme of queen of the stone age did that. and guitar solo's aint the only type of good music. check out radiohead and so much more.

    Greatings

  • yeah if you like gloomy as fuck lyrics and vocal delivery. i loved them when i was a kid, i grew up with them, the fact that you're shitting on jack shows how fucking lame you are. seems like you're tastes are more determined by your reconceptions than actual quality. evolve or die.

  • @aegisforex thats bullshit

  • @remmyjable The White Stripes are more than just mediocre. But yeah, for the times, they are the only true rock band, well actually I take that back. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Marilyn Manson, NIN, Radiohead, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, those are some pretty true rock artists with roots from earlier rock and they are still around.

  • @RyZombie619 Some true great musicians and artists you named and there are quite a few more from the past that should never be forgotten like Led Zepplin, The Doors, and such.

  • can totally play this on guitar, it totally rocks... totally.

  • Remember, this whole wide world is filled with speculation. This whole wide world which people say is round.

  • even the strawberries get it!

  • ...and your shoes get it...and everyone gets it...

    :) endless posisbilitys

  • very clever song

  • are Meg and Jack sister and brother?

  • no they are actually divorced but go on as brother and sister to avoid the gossip. they are smart people

  • no. theyre ex-spouses. the sister/brother story was a coverup.

  • i thaught the were husband and wife or x husband and wife

  • they are divorced. they tell people theyre brother and sister just because. jack white lies alot. lesson #1 of the detroit music scene is jack white lies. lesson #2 is that he cheats on everybody hes been with...

  • no, but they have ingested eachother's cream.

  • however, they are a great fucking band!

  • the meaning of this song is as dirty as that riff

  • whats the meaning lol

  • sex probably

  • I LOVE JACK WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • badass

  • JAAAACK I LOOOOVE UUUUU!

  • The man is extremely talented, he writes most if not all of the songs. I wouldn't be surprised if he composed everything from scratch. John White, his real name...is one funky white boy....BIG, BIG UPS! I ♥ WhytStrypes.....

And this track is most definitely about the birds and the bees....SO WHY DON'T YOU ?!?!

  • his last name isn't white I know that, he said that he got it from Meg.

  • What a stupid mistake...I stand corrected. Thank you for reading!

  • John Anthony Gillis ;)

  • birth name is john anthony gillis, yeah he writes everything on his own with the white stripes(except for covers obviously haha) and brendan benson helps jack write for his other group the raconteurs

  • Nice...! thx

  • i love 1:00-1:01...that always gets me moving. The term "musical genius" gets thrown around a lot, but I think Jack White is a prime example. He keeps it simple, but its so damn good.

  • love when they do blues

  • the stripes are amazing, they are at a 3 way tie for my favourite band, with Led zep, and te violent femmes

  • I love the violent femmes

  • this song is in the movie: The Science Of Sleep [; i LOVE that movie!

  • That's why I looked to song up! but I've always liked the White Stripes anyway!

  • yea me to

  • haha me too

  • hahahaha, wtf, i did too.

  • as did i

  • THE WHITE STRIPES ARE MINT

  • wow they sound like zepplin i like
