Hi Jordan, since the premiere of "Explorations" is the 19th of november and this is also my 42. birthday I think it would be a great birthday present if you fly a fellow musician (me!) over to tape and film your performance to share it with the rest of the world ... so what do you say? Deal? Hey, it's my birthday ... oh, c'mon! Jordan! Say yes! Ohhh c'mon ... :-) Seriously now: Is there a livestream available?
Last night I recognized this part in the concert and I started counting.....or at least i tried to! hahaha....Jordan last night was amazing, thank you so much!
i'd love to hear a studio version of this along with a live version, either one will be great, i just want to hear this piece because i'm very into orchestral music and i love progressive music and putting them together like this is just amazing. i'm thinking you've probably already got plans to record this because you've worked so hard and long on it but just in case you don't, we al want to hear the whole thing!
@ironwolg also, a score would be an amazing thing to look at haha i'd love to run through it and analyze it and show it to my music theory teacher, i think she might pass out lol
It's really nice how you combine the different signatures without it sounding like it's cut off prematurely, it just sounds so natural. Usually when you listen to technical music, you're instantly "oh look at that, it's in 9/8", because the band is all in your face about it. There's something special about doing it in a subtle way where it just starts to sound like the bars are flowing into each other at some strange pace, but without discontinuities.
I would love some sheet music for this. The sound is awesome and the meter. Trying to play this on marimba would be such a challenge but so amazing. Please give us some sheet music, or maybe a midi file of the complete thing. At least after the premier. PLEASE! Rlw3ninja wants this for Christmas
@JCRUDESS he has point Jordan... I know it must be a pain to manage all the logistics of hiring a camera crew, sound guys, then editing and distributing the footage but you would it be financially worh it? maybe...That would be the next best thing other than watching you do this here in Toronto. Good luck with everything
wow taht sound like latin i like and when you count the meter sound like the lirys ohh the number song hahaha grat joob jordan look im a drummer but i cant stop to see your vid amazing viva jurdan viva dream theater
Yes indeed an interesting use of odd meters. I like how it slows down and picks up tempo as the meters goes from 16th to 8th to 4ths etc... Interesting!
