How to record songs from internet without a microphone

God, I shouldn't have to do this. I've been recording audio straight from the internet for four years using WavePad sound editor. Today I opened it, and without authorizing any updates it had changed such that it doesn't register any sound whatsoever from the line I've always used for recording.

And also, this method doesn't work for me, I don't have the Media Wave Device.

Hello Pal, Thanks a lot for nice tutorial. Its effective & correct. Only problem is that we have to click on record button again & again in every 60secs. So there is a sound loss for few milli secs. But, very effective for recordings shorter than 60secs. Nice try. Thanks for sharing...

Can anyone explain how to increase the recording time on the Sound Recorder from 60 seconds? I have to hit the record button every 60 seconds precisely as the 60 second pre-set time runs out to record anything longer. Sometimes I get it perfect, most of the time there is an audible break in the recording where I reset it. Very frustrating.

u can rec sound on a pc w/o a mic on windows xp.. no downloading anything, no nothing. but vista or win 7 doesnt have it bc there was some kind of complaint that ppl were re-recording songs and crap from the internet and so on..

but i dont want to just rec sound. i want to rec both sound And video. problem is that theres either program to rec vid, program to rec sound, or both but u need a mic.. idk why in the world cant anybody make a program that rec sound and vid on ur pc with out a damn mic

1. Open sound recorder

2. Record silence for ten seconds

3. Stop the video, click "effects" in the top of the box

4. Click "decrease speed" until the length of the recording is however long you want it

5. Click to the beginning of the recording and record your audio, youtube video what ever

6. Happy sound recording!

you can save as mp3 from sound recorder... click save as, then click format. change it to the highest bitrate and choose mpeg layer 3. click ok. then where it says save file type as, change it from .wav to any files. then save your file as song name.mp3

I noticed that too. There's an easy way around it though. After you open Sound recorder, record a blank track for, say, 20 seconds. Hit stop after the said 20 seconds, then go to Effects - Decrease Speed. This will decrease the speed of the 20 second audio clip by 1/2. Meaning it makes the 20 seconds into 40 seconds. Do this as many times as needed. There's an unlimited amount of recording time that you're able to have. Later, ust trim the excess off with an audio editing program. Good luck. =)
