@errolflynn451 This was just before the Beatles and the other beat groups stormed the charts and ushered in a new era so that the careers of some really good acts like Craig Douglas ended overnight from 1963. Even top US artists like Bobby Vee struggled and by 1964 they had all but disappeared. Craig specialised in covers of US hits such as 'Only Sixteen', 'A Hundred Pounds of Clay', 'Pretty Blue Eyes', 'When My Little Girl Is Smiling' and Our Favourite Melodies. He was very popular here.
First saw Craig on Sounds of the Sixties series (1992), which shows him singing "Oh, Lonesome me". I've never heard this song till now, but it is pretty good, and sung very well. Very pleasing timbre to Craig's voice.
As a very young 4 year old this was my first favourite song, I would play it over and over on our radiogram. It was on the green Columbia Record Label. Thank you for putting it on youtube as it brings back happy memories before the worlds music went silly
1962, I saw the movie (It's Trad, Dad) that this is from several years ago. Thanks for posting this and several other great performances and songs from it.
