Solo sections were just abysmal. Where's the feeling in your improvisation? I know you have the technical capacity, but there comes a time to "color outside the lines" and give the emotional portion of the music your all! You can do better next time, I know it!

Who cares! It sounds beautiful! :-)

Although the composer might have meant it for another instrument (by the way, I'm curious which one), it still sounds fine... I once transposed a trumpet piece to viola because I thought it was really beautiful and it worked relatively well...

You haven't encountered that many instruments in your lifetime have you? I know that costumer loyalty is considered a deed somewhere but brand-religion isn't going to get you anything. If you want a good oboe you have to choose it with your ears, not with blind faith.
