How to Reactivate an Old YouTube Account

I want to retrieve a video of Die Walkure ROH 2005 with Terfell/Gasteen but received the message that it was not available because the account had been closed. How can I find this video?

@sartrific When you close a YouTube account it usually means that all videos associated with that account get deleted. This is unfortunate.

Unless you had a backup version saved to your hard drive then the video is most likely lost. Your best bet is to search YouTube, Google, Vimeo and any other video hosting site for the video...then use one of the free pieces of software, like YouTube Downloader, to download a copy to your computer.

@pumpkinking3001 It depends on how you deleted your G+ account. If you still have your Gmail account associated with it then all you need to do is follow the instructions in the video. If your email account that was associated with your channel is gone too then it might be impossible to get your old channel back.

@JonathanAlbrardMario Depending on when you took the steps taken here it can be up to several days until your old account is reinstated. Also, if the old account was deactivated for other reasons such as copyright infringement or other TOS violations you would not be able to have it be reactivated.

@KaysoneLuvsYuu21 That's horrible someone would do that. I'm going to assume they probably changed your password and/or email address too since it won't let you get it back. You might try the following link for more information on getting a hacked account back. Go to google.com and add (without quotes) '/support/youtube/bin/answer.p­y?hl=en&answer=128032'

@LoveHDentertainment Yeah, it can take up to a week (or even longer) for the account to reactivate. I think there is a department set up to handle this and that it's not automated.

@emil3m1 From what I understand you need access to the old email account as that's where YouTube will send any pertinent information. If can't get access or reopen the account then you probably won't be able to re-open your old account.

Ok I checked. I did have a typo and I was surprised to get the page you had mentioned.

In my situation I don't have access to the old email account and it will only send it to the original email account even if it is doesn't exist.

So I suspect that it will work if you do have access to the email account.

Any ways around that one?

After you do this it will take several days for the account to be re-activated. They do it by hand. Please be patient and if it isn't back within a week of you reactivating it then you should probably try again or contact them.
