This version is by far my favourite, I just like the lyrics more. All the different versions of this song can really make you realize how a couple of tweaks to a song can really change what it means to you.

@davidmalone94 I live in Indiana, and I'm not sure that it ever literally "burned." It's difficult to describe if you haven't lived in a Midwestern town -- we're small. We're insignificant. We're a homogeneous, simple minded state. Broadripple was once a haven of culture and beauty in the center of a state most well-known for its corn fields. It turned into less of a beautiful, spontaneous place than a badge of honor for hipsters and we lament that. It's the Garden of Eden, post-expulsion.

this version is vastly superior to any of the others. it's just a better arrangement; slightly more upbeat and yet still very raw - one man with a guitar (coughs not omitted). I do however miss the sporatic use of the cello and the female backing vox in the chorus... other than that this song was just what i needed when i stumbled upon it

I love this version! The only noticeable lyric difference is 'snortin coke' instead of 'huffin glue' .. . I feel like this is a more upbeat version if possible haha

@youatemyzombie that, and the fact that he repeats "I'll be hanging from a rope" twice in the chorus instead of switching to "I will haunt you like a ghost"; I also noticed he says "then somebody moves" instead of "IF somebody moves", but that's not very noticeable. I agree it's more upbeat, if possible, than the album version. I think both are fantastic.
