JFK was the last great president to stand up to Israel. He prevented them from obtaining nuclear weapons despite their fevered attempts to change his policy. I believe his assassination has to do with that principled stand. LBJ who took over right after the assassination immediately allowed Israel to obtain nuclear weapons.
