  • It sounds a little like U2 at 1:05 and 1:30

  • this looks (and) sounds like a spaceship

  • @kuchesezik Thats because it is a spaceship.

  • unfortunately i dont get it

  • is the same thing tyler drone uses on his records?? it sounds alot like his work.

  • eww

  • 40,000 USD

  • @Mrneradlim

    more like 20-30,000

  • JELUS ME JELUS! :(

  • It starts to become the Who half way through, and then turns into 303 techno. ;-) See Buchla demos on my page, really soon

  • rock n roll!

  • Nice patch! The biggest problem I have (but also the most beautiful thing about modular & analog synth gear) is remembering what the hell I did.

  • Make a video of it, then you can see. ;-)

  • Indeed my friend !!

  • I think I am in love.

  • i fucking want one!!

  • Damn... manual patching! Sweeet.

  • wow, it looks like an alien spaceship!

  • Actually it is. - Definitly sounds from outa space ; )

    Wonderful machine.

  • i will have it XD

  • Sweet

  • You are such a nerd! <3

  • Buchla FTW!!

  • yeah, the master, of course, he's fucking Alessandro Cortini

  • I'm issueing the Great Buchla Challenge:

Can anybody do the Pink Floyd "On The Run" on a Buchla synth? (This is a song that can be played on most modular and some portable synths.)

I'd love to hear somebody use one of these outrageously expensive machines to make something more than "farting" noises!

I have no doubt it can be done, that's why I've just thrown down the gauntlet and issued this challenge!

May the best Buchla programmer win! :)

  • NO :P JK

Yes... you sir are a genious with them synth

    BlindOldFreak

    teh master of the Buchla

    FTW!

  • look at all that spaghetti......pin matrix's rule....!

  • hey - I like spaghetti!

    ...pin matrixes do rule, however.

    #@!

  • Cool! It's such a rare treat to see what goes on behind the curtain. ;)

  • @eugenetongue

    Of course not!

You should listen to the stuff this guy does.

  • that's alessandro's buchla

  • This isnt a Buchla system is it? Its a custom made EAR with Plan B and LiveWire modules...

And Alessandro Cortini designed it and is manipulating it here (Keybaordist for NIN recently for those who dont know)

  • if you even know what plan b is then you would know that this is not one and is very much a buchla trademark style.

  • my mistake.

i read the place where the original video came from and it was talking about his custom modular, then it just skipped to "here is a video of him playing the Buchla 200e"

Im a beginner synth... person, so bear with me whilst i learn differences.

  • sorry didnt mean to be rude. But really, very different looking and sounding synths, buchla is probably the most distinct looking modular system out there, unmistakable.

  • They look like candy to me...

  • I know who you are lol.

  • I love modulars and I'd love to own a modular... but why don't I see people doing totally generative beats/melodies with their systems? They're really capable of knocking them out!

    Still, this video's cool :)

  • no lo puedo creer, pero hay gente mas pelotuda q yo...

Copada la consola de la nave espacial de encuentro cercano del 3er tipo

    felicitaciones!!

  • ah, yee with little faith. a true synth enthusiast only needs to hear a small sample of a synth to be able to visualize its full potential.

  • 1.) It's modular. The architecture wasn't set in stone by some old geezer in a lab. The possibilities are infinite.

2.) Buchla is extremely well built and laid out. They can survive a nuclear fallout, and the sound can inspire said fallout.

  • O.

    W.

    N.

    D.

    =)

  • i wouldnt mind finding this synth under my christmas tree...of course it might not fin UNDER the tree, maybe off to the side...lol

  • alessandro cortini is behind that camera!

  • haha, 1:22 "Rock 'n' roll!"

  • At first glance I thought it was the Enterprise's Christmas tree.

  • uuuuu yeahh! Nice!

  • A fantastic machine. It rocks? Much better !

  • man, congratulations to this piece .. in my eyes it's the best modular synth on earth .. wouldn't you like to give it to me as a present? - that'd be greatly appreciated ..

  • fuckin expensive

  • that ship isn't cheap for sure

  • that was pretty sweet

    post some more!

  • Please post more Buchla 2003 vids!

  • By 2003 I of course meant 200e.

  • thanks for posting this. There's not a lot of opportunity to hear this system without having one.

  • Which system is this? The 18 panel premade system for 20k?

  • dude sick, I want that system

  • omg this guy is an idiot.

  • ORLY? o_O

  • cool!
