OMG I so wish I went on this now me and my two siblings where standing in line for it but I chikened out befor we enev got to the lodaing area and now I so cant wait tell I go back.
I think I'll change my rating to a 7. The yeti is a bit scary for kids because you go backwards into a dark cavern and then you see the yeti. The drop is moderatly intense but it happens so quick.
It's not those drops where it's hard to breathe and it goes straight down right? It goes down and turns meaning not one of those like in space mountain.
and also, I probably won't be afraid of the yeti if it's just a shadow I mean come on now
i rode this yesterday. the big drop at 1:38 is going forwards and at about 2:10 in the video there is a huge anamatronic yeti that swipes down over the train which is not shown in the video. it is not just the yeti's shadow.
how big is the drop compared to space mountain, or something? or jurrassic park river adventure at islands of adventure, also, is the yeti scary looking, my 12yr old sister is scared
Well the big drop on Expedition Everest is 80 feet and it goes speeds up to 50 mph but isnt that bad. The Jurassic Park River Adventure at IOA has an 85 foot drop and goes speeds in excess of 50 mph so it is taller and faster than Expedition Everest. And you see the anamatronic yeti for only a split second so if your sister is scared, she should do fine if she just closes her eyes or something when it gets to that part. I brought my 11 year old nephew on this and he said he loved it.
Well no lol I mean how will she know when the "yeti" is coming to close her eyes, like what does it look like and stuff, big, scary? does he try to eat you or what, because she will still probably fucking scream man for that split sec lmao
well the yeti is pretty big and looks pretty scary and it reaches down right over the top of the train but the train is still moving pretty fast at this point and you only get a glimpse of the yeti. btw the yeti is in the last tunnel that you go through before the end of the ride. right after the big spiral back up into the mountain.
I'd say you only see it for about a second and then you hit the final brake run and yes that is it that you see at 2:10. When I rode it myself, I was too busy screaming and stuff to even notice the yeti. The only way you actually can see it well is if youre really looking for it.
lol it was more like "im having fun" screaming than "im scared" screaming. the backwards section is faster than i thought it would be but all it is is a bunch of turns. no big drops or anything.
ok so shit i may get sick, lol, i mean im very fine with the fast foward i understand, its the backwards that really gets me, how long do you think it lasts
it lasts no more than 15-20 seconds then everythings forward from then on. i really hope you get to experience Expedition Everest tho because its an amazing ride.
It's just the backwards that would get me, and heights. but there isn't much see of heights since your like inside of a cave, but the backwards!!!!! -.- oh well, if i get sick, shit, i dunno manlol
i understand what youre saying man but the way i see it is that no matter what or how i feel about something, i just wanna be able to say that i experienced it because i mean, youre at Walt Disney World and the point is to do all that you could. i myself live in Louisiana and its a 12 hour drive so i dont go there much. Ive only been to florida twice in my whole lifetime so i just try to do all that i could while im there.
I will try it, if I don't like it, and get sick, maybe vomit, then I know to not ride it again, therefore, yup.
I live in Pennsylvania, I don't ride in a car, my grandmom lives there, and we get there by plane (2hours) from Philadelphia, and I go there once a year in the summer.
I am going this July 30th to the middle of August , I will go to Disney , and Universal, Universal I like much better, and I will ride this ride for sure.
No prob. lol. nah i never went to Universal Studios Florida. Ive only been to Islands of Adventure. Id like to ride the Mummy one day tho. Have fun in Florida and I hope you enjoy Expedition Everest.
Yeah I haven't ride the Hulk. I'm not that kind of person for roller coasters that hang your feet down. Rofl. But yeah ,I rode must of the rides at Islands of Adventure besides the roller coasters with the legs down, and the dr dooms fearfall (FUCK NO, I'm afraid of heights) also, have you rode that one ride, it seems scary, like something poidson or something i forget, ithnk its a walkthrough, i never been on it
nah i didnt go on Poseidons Fury ( i think thats what its called). and i think the rollercoaster that youre talking about is dueling dragons cus your feet dont hang down on the Hulk. i love the launch on it tho.
i thought Dr. Dooms Fearfall sucked. i was expecting more than just one launch. it didnt seem scary at all to me. It had a great view tho when you got to the top.
i really want to go on this but im not too good with the drops! i heard this one has an 80ft drop? is that backwards in the dark? splash mountains drop was enough for me and that was only 50ft! i go back at the end of june x
man this ride was the best at all disney florida parks. my cousins uncle works at the corporate level and got us in the park for free plus around 30 fast passes for 6 people. me and my other cousin stole most of the other fast passes and rode this 5 times, we even made friends with the employee because we asked him to give us the front row each time. man i can't wait to go back to orlando. i felt like i was 7 again! too bad im 20 = ( lol but disney is awesome.
For the most part, it's not scary. When you go backwards and then you end up in a tunnel where you see the Yeti, that part may be a little scary depending on how old you are. My 5 year old went on the ride and just closed her eyes during that part. Otherwise, she loved the ride.
i was so scared and i was like hiding from my family but then my bro found me and strapped me on the ride and i was shaking and then after i rode it i wanted to ride again
I went on this Twice but I never saw the Yeti because i was afraid to open my eyes in the cave. When you take the worng trail backwards at one time it feels like your going upside down!
This is one of the coolist rides there! I personaly liked rocken roller coster abit better but....I love how disney does such an amazing job on the themes for these rides! you just forget where you are! :)
I don't get problems like that, but there is a part where you go down a slope pretty far, and also you go around in circles some in the dark, so it might.
ya, but its kinna a fun adrenalen you know? I would definatly recomend going on it, but for your first time, ride beside a buddy so you can grab them if needed :)
OMG I so wish I went on this now me and my two siblings where standing in line for it but I chikened out befor we enev got to the lodaing area and now I so cant wait tell I go back.

im goin to disney for spring break with my cousin does it have an 80 ft backwards drop
3aDDiCtEdFooLs 2 years ago
There's no backwards drop. Only a forwards drop which is pretty steep. You do go backwards for a little bit though...no drop though.
danielmi8 2 years ago
I get really sick going backwards. How long is the backwards?
And is this the actual length of the ride besides the cut at 0:27
XmetalmikeX 2 years ago
The backwards part only lasts 15 seconds.
I'm pretty sure that it's the actual length of the ride except for the 20-30 seonds I cut out around :27...that part was boring.
danielmi8 2 years ago
So at 1:23 is when the backwards stops and the fowards begins again?
Also, what would you rate this 1-10?
XmetalmikeX 2 years ago
Yes at 1:23.
I'd rate this a 6 probably.
danielmi8 2 years ago
a 6 intense-wise or look wise as in the yeti and shit
XmetalmikeX 2 years ago
I think I'll change my rating to a 7. The yeti is a bit scary for kids because you go backwards into a dark cavern and then you see the yeti. The drop is moderatly intense but it happens so quick.
danielmi8 2 years ago
Do you actually see the yeti? because I didn't see anything but the shadow at 1:25
that's just a shadow.
And also, the drop intense that happens so quick is going backwards or forwards?
XmetalmikeX 2 years ago
You only see the yeti's shadow.
The drop is going forward, not backwards.
danielmi8 2 years ago

lol why screaming...? to fast, or what
and yeah I can barely see it at 2:10 anyways, like I try to pause it but I see nothing, and how intense is the backwards,,,,,,,,, i get very sick
