Thanks for an awesome tutorial.

  • @nestie Try going to the website and reading the steps. That helped me.

-bash: ./adb-linux: No such file or directory

I followed you correctly all the way.. what did I do wrong?

  • @modogg2279 ok i figured it out I had to change my directoryback to /KindlfeFireRootNew/ but now it says: root@moses-ZX4931:/home/moses/Desktop/KindleFireRootNew# ./adb-linux devices

    List of devices attached

    ???????????? no permissions

I even ran the root burrito app again and nothing

  • On the step where you go to terminal and go the the kindlefirerootnew folder, I cannot comprehend what I am supposed to type here, I have a mac and cd Desktop/KindleFireRootNew/ does not work, my computer says there is no such directory, any tips?

  • @MDSpaceman where did you unzip the files to?

  • @zedomax im getting invalid vendor id '0x1949' when entering command

    ./fastboot-linux -i 0×1949 boot twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img

  • Thanks a bunch, I figured it out after. Phew. Haha.

  • It seems like a lot of Mac users are having issues with it not showing up under devices. Sadly, I am too. I wish there was a tutorial for strictly Macs, because there are some differences between Linux and Macs.

  • Worked flawlessly with my iMac! Thanks man! Keep it up!

  • Hey there, I'm stuck on the yellow triangular sign with the fire inside... it won't turn off... just stays there. I was at the last step. I typed reboot. And nothing. I held down the power button and no dice... any advice?

  • @hamletsdemise make sure you do the last fastboot command otherwise you will get stuck there.

  • @zedomax stuck there? im pretty sure im stuck here. please help.

  • I have the same thing as feroxcvpiditas please tell us how to fix this...

  • dude... i'm completely stuck. I have root access and i STILL get "no permissions" when i type "./adb-linux devices" :-(

  • Thanks for the Mac version. Some of the commands didn't work with paste/copy. You have to type manually and it worked. Thanks for the video. You Rock!

  • @dvdray nice!

  • I have been at this for hours im not that good at terminal can someone put up what i need to type exactly plz thanks

  • Thanks a lot! This was really great! I did it on my mac with no issues at all!

  • @jburg255 I have the same problem as @nebuchadnezzar38 ,what did you type to get yours rooted?

  • Can someone please explain what to do when I try to access the devices with ./adb-mac devices. On my mac it says no such file or directory. very frustrated and don't know how to use terminal, please advise!

  • Some of these commands aren't shot for shot exact for Mac, so it took a bit of tinkering on my part, but it worked like a charm...Thanks, so much!

  • @Jburg255 Did you get to a problem when typing in ./adb-mac devices? When I did so it just told me there is No such file or directory and I haven't been able to go anywhere since. What's the deal?

  • @nebuchadnezzar38 No I actually had no problem with that. The problems that I had revolved around finding the directory in terminal. Especially once entering root mode, as I had to type something very different to direct myself back to the KindleFireRootNew folder in terminal. I also didn't follow any of the instructions on the site, as I saw that there were things that had to be changed. I just followed along with the video.

  • @Jburg255 Can you tell me what you did that was "very different" to direct yourself back to the KindleFireRootNew folder in terminal? I suppose my problem also started there.

  • @nebuchadnezzar38 The difficulty started when I entered root mode and had to head back to the KindleFireRootNew folder on my desktop. It wouldn't allow me to get back to it in the same way I did before, using cd Desktop/KindleFireRootNew. In the video around 8:00, he types cd /home/max/Desktop/KindleFireRootNew/ to go back. I thought my problems lied in the username, but on mac, rather than typing cd "home", you have to type cd "users" or "user". I don't have my exact log anymore, I don't think.

  • my mac doesn't contain a .android folder, but when I try to create one I get an error stating you cannot make a file name starting with a dot.

  • Hello there, I followed you all the way until I searched for devices and got the

    List of devices attached

    ???????????? no permissions

I am a root user and i re-ran BurritoRoot! Help

  • After I did sudo -i and my password, I try to go to the next step but it says "No such file or directory"

this is the step that doesnt go through.

    cd /home/max/Desktop/KindleFireRootNew/

Im on a mac and I changed "max" to my user name. What do i do? Ive been trying to root it for a week!!

  • Hey zedomax, I tried this using my mac, but on the step where I type in "./fastboot-mac -i 0×1949 boot twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img", it showed: "error: invalid vendor id '0×1949'" Now my kindle is stuck on the startup screen. I don't know what to do from here.

  • @mbfive you can't copy and paste the command line from the website, the character "x" is wrong. Just delete and type the 0x1949

  • Thanks! That worked!

Just one note for those who are outside the USA and thus cannot install ES File Explorer: you can still install and open kindlefireroot.apk by launching QuickOffice (which comes as part of Kindle Fire) and pushing "Browse" button inside it. This basically gives you a file explorer.

  • Thanks for uploading! I get stuck in the TWRP menu when I try to turn it on (orange light), or just the yellow warning (green light) Am I supposed to press something on in the TWRP menu?

  • @polarfishdotcom Nevermind, sorry, I was being too impatient :) thanks again for the upload, it helped me a great deal!

  • @henriqueribas You can install it from adb, google esfileexplorer apk then install with adb command.

  • @zedomax cool.... sorry asking, but can you teach me how can i do that? I'm a newbie in things like that... may a i go to Terminal and tipe "adb esfileexplorer.apk" and it will recognize that it must be installed into my Kindle Fire? :)
