Holder, Duncan to Fight Chicago Teen Violence

Chicago is so outrageously violent, it is ridiculous and Mayor Daley is the WORST mayor in the country. His answer to the problem is that "neighborhoods have to take care of the problems themselves". Well, let them try and see what the gangs and drug dealers do to them. I've given up, moved my family away a decade ago. But I am so sad, and sorry that so many children live there to face the violent culture every day.

I moved my children far FAR away from that crazy city and they will never set foot there again. I hurt for Chicago, I can remember classmates being killed when I was in 6th and 7th grade. My first image in school when I was 4 years old, going to pre-kindergarten and I remember my first day on the school yard was seeing two kids beat each other so viciously that one began to projectile vomit as the other continue to punch through the vomit.

Violence in Chicago is so ingrained in the culture that to most Chicagoans it's normal. Someone once told me that it's like that all over the country to which I replied, we have five murders a year in my city compared to the 500 a year in Chicago.

How about Stop and frisk like Juliano did in New York? Except add a twist, when a person is found to be carrying an unregistered hand gun offer them the choice of army, marines, or jail time.

They obviously want to fight, lets teach them how and give them someone to fight.

This is just one example that more gov't does not solve this problem. These leaders should speeak for more stable families. Children should have a mother and father raising them. Not more school hours, community centers, sports.

I'm from Chicago and to be honest Daley and Obama turned their backs on the Black community. All they cared about was their political agenda's. Like keeping elected etc. As far as Obama is concern these people are a torn in his side. On the other hand Black parents are the cause of most black on black kid crime. It is the culture and it just recycles after each new generation. It will never end!

When criminally insane individuals murder a 16year old, there's a big problem. Teachers should not have to work in these criminally insane environments.The police should handle these murderers. $500,000.00 won't fix this madness.
