the bass/rythm section is very repetitive and droning which allows his poppy vocal arrangements to come off as pure melody. the claps make the music more aggressive. interesting.
@enyafreak2007 It is great comedy to have the username like "enyafreak" and go around commenting "sounds a bit like Enya, don't you think?" on videos of songs that sound nothing like Enya. I'm going to take this idea and run now.
@mizuno82 I know it seems ironic that my username happens to be "enyafreak" and I comment about Enya, but I don't go around looking for songs on Youtube to compare it to Enya, I just happened to make that comment because something in the music reminded ME of her music-it's just my opinion, and even though I listen to Enya's music, this comment just happened to come out because I thought so-if you think it's going too far, go ahead...it really doesn't matter.
@enyafreak2007 hahahaha god I hope you are a contrived character. If you're not, I'm stealing your username and personality to use as a joke from now on.
@mizuno82 Enya layers her voice on many of her songs...Panda Bear is doing the same thing-all I meant was that it had the same etheareal sound...it sounds like you're going to far with thie "contrived character" idea- where did you get that from?
@enyafreak2007 I think I know what I'm talking about....I wasn't necessarily talking about this song, I meant songs like Tomboy mainly. It doesn't sound like Enya completely, I just meant the way the musical arrangement turned, that's all. If you haven't listened to all of Enya's music, it probably sounds ridiculous, but it's extremely subtle.
@Enyaisthegreatest Thanks for the sarcasm...unless you know what I'm talking about, unlike the rest of the comments on this video. It was just my opinion.
@reasonformirrors Well, in my opinion, 'Tomboy' and 'You Can Count on Me' are the two songs that have a similar musical arrangement and progression as Enya's music. Well, the first big similarity is the sound of multiplied voices, which Enya does in all her albums, and the way the songs turn. Listen to Enya's Paint the Sky with Stars album, you'll probably know what I'm talking about after that :-)
@enyafreak2007 I don't listen to much Enya (although I probably should; I love her voice and something about her arrangements) and never would have made the comparison but now that you say it I kinda hear it.
i haven't been this excited for a new album SINCE "person pitch"! this man makes me believe that great, interesting, original and ridiculously catchy pop music can still be made. and yes, i said pop music because this song should be #1 on the billboard chart. alas, we live in a time when genius like this is neglected by the vast majority of the public.
with such a highly anticipated album coming out so very soon, i have no idea how all of the videos for his new songs aren't being flooded with comments of endearment and joy. i'm so damn excited for this shit to drop. dont think ive been so excited for an album for the longest time.
Glad people are starting to work with Sonic Boom again. Spacemen 3 lives on!

@enyafreak2007 there are some parts of the progression that give similar vibes to enya songs.

@bapesthief At least two people know what I'm talking about-the progression of his vocals probably.

I love the new album so far. It has very little sense of urgency, but doesn't overstay it's welcome.
