I DONT WANT TO MAKE A OFFER BUT I USED ONE LIKE THIS AT THE GOLF COURSE JACK NICHOLAS BEAR CREEK GOLF COURSE IN MURRIETA CALIF, IN 1985 VERY AMAZING MOWER TOOK ALOT OF BALLS TO OPERATE THIS MOWER WITH A ROPE WITH KNOTS TO PULL IT BACK UP A GRASS BUNKER SAW A WORKER CUT THE TIP OF HIS TOE OFF BEING DUMB ASS WONDERING IF THEY STILL MADE THEM THEM WE HAD A KILLER MOW CREW.
Those things can be super dangerous. I know , I used one for a number of years. The flymo on inclines and hills can be deadly. There's no safety shut off for them, only the switch to turn it on/off. And if you think that because it's hugging the ground that there's no danger you're wrong. Those things spit rocks and sand out in every direction, pray you don't hit something larger because it'll bounce around in the housing until it finds a hole, or makes one .
these are for cutting the ditch out front of the house. they are lite on the slops and if you get into the water a little,,, no big deal cuz it "hovers"
wow i thought i would never see 1 of these mowers again ..owned one back when i was a teen in 92 i thinkbought it for only 5 buck cuz the man hated it ...never had a problem with it but sold it to a man that offered me 300 for it lol
It's far from one of a kind. They still make them as a matter of fact but they don't sell them much in the US like they used to. Made in the UK. My dad bought that exact model in the 1970's. It was fun to use as a kid but it got stuck easily in thick grass and cut unevenly depending on the ground. It does really fly though for the doubters. The other thing is it's loud as hell! It's a 2 cycle Honda type engine. I'd love to play with one again though. Kind of toys but good for tough to get spots.
Don't do it.Those things were shit. Flyblow as in blow money out of your ass. Has anyone ever hit a bit of thick grass and the mower(even a gas one WITH wheels) kinda stutters and chokes? He's just trying to get some of his money back, can't say I blame him. But he should take it back to Sears and not bullshit people.
Love these lawn mowers, Grandad had them since day one, used to cut the grass with them when I was 8 in the 70's. Finally bought one off Ebay for cheap, can't wait for it to show up. My Grandad would be proud, lol.
In Australia back in the 70's I recall they had a blue or maybe grey plastic base with a white Kirby petrol motor fitted.
