Everytime I watch the weather in Chicago, I give the weathermen a lot of credit! Because Lake Michigan can really mess up and change the weather completely!
The thing about KNBC is they don't have meteorologists, never had. Pat Sajak, Christopher Nance, and Fritz Coleman are comedians, while Rachel Boesing and Elita Loresca are entertainers.
It's not a stupid promo.. You just have to know the different Chicago weathercasting styles to get this one. The "Monster Doppler 7000" and "fearcast" is refering to WFLD FOX Chicago. The "need a dictionary just to understand" refers to Tom Skilling's weather on WGN. The weathercaster in the promo along with his hand motions was formed to look like WBBM CBS 2's Ed Curran.

I think they were mocking WFLD's Live Power Doppler, which is a better radar (1 million watts) but,NBC has the better team :D
