you do no you can STILL put 4% in under john keys version of the scheme. it just means that people that can't afford the scheme can put 2% instead. what if you can't afford 4%? then does that mean you shouldn't be able to save for your retirement? you can still put 4% in. + the country is in a resection.. we need more money in the system now not when your 65. less money being spent means bigger resection..

i'm at the bottom today earning minimum wage i don't care that john key doesn't look out for people at the bottom because i have ambition i don't plan on being at the bottom forever the only people that want the government to look after people at the bottom is people who are to lazy to actually work hard for themselves, governments will never make you rich (unless you are Moari) that is somthing you will have to do for yourself!!!!

thats just simplistic political naivity...some people dont have the qualifications or expertese or intellegence to get out of the lower earning classes but this doesnt make them fuking lazy. The hardest workers in New Zealand are those in the lower classes working 40hr weeks in go nowhere jobs. REWARD THEM with higher wages. You accused people in the lower classes of being lazy, i said that they were much harder workers than those at the top. and believe me those at the top dont work anywhere near as hard - they have the cushioned swivel chairs, their fountain pens, and there millions of dollard. those at the bottom do their job for $12 an hour. Against people that actually create the idea and expand it to give YOU a job...These are the people that put New Zealand on the MAP... I'm not saing forget the "lower class" at all! Then you have obviously never studied or heard of economics - the more money spread throughout the population creates higher domestic spending, more demand, more jobs, and thats how buisness' should get there money. New Zealand is admired for its hardworking and honest people. Dont try and use a nationalist cause to promote big buisness - big buisness that were greedy - reckless credit loaning which led to this economic downfall. Why punish the people working in minimum wage jobs for that!

All i said fuckwit is that i am studying it!! No aspirations of being a politician...And I could safely say that I can as I run a business as I have my own!!!! Don't go jumping to conclusions on me cuz.....People that go to university or to learn trades actually learn stuff useful for the real world!!! Most politicians you will find have done the yards look at john key!..Most of the politicians represent a fair spread of all ocupations some are just put in the wrong portfolios..

dougie,i do agree a lot of the lower class people work hard and yes the minimum wage should be increased.Dont knock big business though.Most employers in NZ arent slave drivers and have a heart.Why not mention the slave labour in China which gives them the edge for exporting their goods.Thats whats crippling world economy.China should be the one we protest about but Auntie Helen will never mention that.

We do have compassion! But I personally don't see why if they make that choice to be in a minimum wage job that they should get MORE perks in proportion to those people that actually apply themselves to education and training...Surely they are the ones that should be rewarded more by trying to make NEw Zealand a more better place to live in! Just because you're in LOWER CLASS does not stop you from acheiving or being "better" results.. Your from Australia it says on your profile why do you care?

I'm from lower class and I made it out and applied myself, but it isn't easy, especially in todays standards, even if you do get the training, now if you have a degree it isn't worth shit and you end up in a lower class job anyway earning minimum wage. Unless you further yourself into a 20 year (student)debt and hope by the time you get out of your post-grad, there aren't already heaps of people with that same qual putting you back into the Lower class. Life isn't easy in this day n age.
