  • The narrator is Chinese. I admire how China has emerged in the modern world as a force to be reckoned with economically. But for Nigeria, corruption will bring this white elepahnt project to guaranteed standstill. Has any of the cleanup of delta oil spillage come to fruition?

  • All 419 they will not do it. its all talk, corruption and indiscipline will not allow it to come to light.

  • African's problems in development is that the governments and the people don't demand accountabilty, transparency, oversight, checks & balances, and time tables to be met. any project must have these to successed. you have to jail those who steal the money from the people not protect them! fire or retire government officials who stand in the way of africa's and african's progress.

  • PRIORITIES: electricity water for everyone toilets inside houses telephone lines decent roads and traffic lights decent bus systemfactories to negate imports railway systems throughout nigeria not just lagos trustworthy police good security civilised behaviour non corruption.
  • Abeg the FG sholud try to do something about LAGOS TO IBADAN express road bfore this dream project that will never come to reality

  • If they fail in completing this project then they are truly fools this is what Nigeria needs to get up & running & ready for this here age,I must ask what energy source these trains will be running on since electricity in Nigeria is a bit of a mess at the moment!

  • yeah they actually took feedback on it from some passengers it received mixed reviews , most didnt like the trains they want new ones but the service was good

  • @spectrey85 are you really sincere these railway system will soon start working? sorry for my ignorance its been a little while i left home and i really love ninja and always pray from transformation,if its is true that means my prayer is now been answered

  • they tested the lagos to ibadan section today and in 3 months lagos to kano will start to operate its 90% done already

  • I wish this dream will ever cpme true...

  • Just so you guys know, the rehabilitation of Nigeria's Rail have been under construction for a couple of years now. Recently about 500 Km of phase 1 Lagos - Kano have been rehabilitated.

  • they just started the abuja to kaduna line yesterday

  • @SpecTrey85 lie lie

  • because nigeria leader has die new leader will get this in april

  • This is great!

There is a light railway system planned for Kampala in UG East Africa.

  • the US still needs highspeed =(

  • Whilst all the other Countries in Europe & Asia have been using High Speed Trains for the past 2 decades. Africa as a whole has been lagging behind with 18th century technology. Its about time we moved into the 21st century. We missed out on the fixed line technology, until the mobile technology came to Ngr in the early part of 2000/2001.

It is not just Ngr that is moving forward, Angola, DR Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia and many others in Africa are rebuilding railways and cities to rival the world

  • ha ha ha, this people can't even pave road from lagos to Enugu or Onitsha (major commercial cities), how much more railway, will that include police checkpoints? It will never be built because Police will go broke, you get the picture.

  • this was uploaded in 2008....its almost 2011.

does anyone know if they have commenced this project? or is this just something to play with our minds while they continue to rob our people?

  • How Can I get this Contract? we can do it faster than the Chinesse. Anybody with the Ifo should contact me. thanks

  • Nigeria should be one of the richesst country in Africa with that oil.

  • @88motho

Nigeria is one of the richest countries in Africa, just that the money isn't being used/spent wisely.

basically we are very wealthy with nothing to show for it.

    :-(

  • This is great and all but shouldn't the goverment be starting with BASIC provisions for it citizens. Once the hierarchy of needs are first met the rest will fall into place. i.e 24/7 Electricity (it's about time, it 2010 not 1960's),Safety etc

Most importantly the rule of law especially for the ranked politicans and their cohoots. Maybe once we see politicans starts standing trial for their crimes the average citizen would know the country is serious about sorting out corruption.

  • THIS IS NO ELEPHANT PROJECT......THE CHINESE COMPANY CCECC HAS COMMENCED WORK ON IT FOR SOME MONTHS NOW. THEY ARE ALREADY AT BADAGRY EXPRESS WAY CONSTRUCTING THE LINE LEADING TO LAGOS ISLAND. NIGERIANS PLEASE HAVE FAITH IN YOUR GOVERNMENT FOR ONCE...DOUBTING AND COMPLAINING NEVER MAKES ANYTHING BETTER.

  • this is all ready under construction...dont you guys read newspapers. the lagos to kano line is being rehabilitated while the warri to kaduna line is already under construction. rail lines form the backbones of every economy so this is not a white elephant project.

  • Ha ha...Nigerians stolen building materials before they are even starting to build.

  • why is it Nigerans get excited just cos u have some guy with a foriegn accent over some marketing video sells u an unrealistic dream. if the government can't maintain the current train system, u think they can handle this? we don't even have this in North America not becos we can't afford it, but becos it requires a lot of planning. I love that country, but we have to be realistic. don't get flashed by some accent and video graphics. it is possible but we gotta start fixing what we got first.

  • we to get this done 9jer

  • i'm most interested to tender for the project so it like british standard

    Chima from uk

  • i like this project so much. as an infomation system manager I think that this project is viable but first lets start with Lagos city ie creating a rail system that will take people aound lagos and nearby cities I think that will be a good start

• What about the Ajaokuta -Agbor (camp)- Worri railway. Built by Bilfinger and Berger on the italian design?

  • This is just NIGERIA 4 U, always looking 2 WALK b4 she can CRAWL What exactly will POWER this project?, non-exsistent, or at best eradict power supply!!!. PLS!!!, until there is finally un-interrupted power supply 365/yr, it's all PIPE DREAMS!!!.

Those that make and sell generators have a BIG stake in seeing to it that Nigeria remains in the dark!!!. DEFEAT D GEN LOBBY!!. DO NOT VOTE 4 their candidates.

  • good electricity and good angegnieur who is able to work 24/24n cause this kind of train need a regulary control.one mestake big accident 1000 ppl lost .

  • AMEN

  • fuck u too cunt,go and fuck your mom!!!

  • ha yeah i saw that. da train is fastest in da world (4 years) to build and yet nigeria dont have even a slow train

  • tech4156: Who told you Nigeria don't have trains? You are stupid, ever before I was born there have been trains all over Nigeria states. What we don't have is subway.

  • TODAY 27-12-09.

China unvail the world's fastest rail service 245mph,completed in just four years.

By comparison, the average for high speed trains in Japan was 150mph while in France it was 172mph.

Xu Fangliang is the general engineer in charge of the designing.

High speed rail has three advantages over air travel:It's more convinient, more punctual and has a better safety record.

Nigeria should allow Chinese Professor to teach in their universities.

  • how about steam trains

  • This is a very important project because transport is the only means of moving goods and people around, almost like a human's arteries and veins to boost economic growth. The prob is that electric trains and the stations they serve need power. Unitil Nigeria boosts its electrical power production to meet national demand it's not going to get very far. We've got only 6GW for 145mil people. SA has 35GW for 50mil and still has blackouts. Why is it so hard for PHCN to function properly?

  • Looks good on paper, but actualising it is another matter in Nigeria. Did I hear Obasanjo's government was behind the project? Well, he left ages ago and we 've not heard anything about the project. I am sure the project was awarded for billions of naira, which have all dissapeared into some spineless people's pocket. This is the tragedy the common man faces daily in Nigeria.

  • @tawe2006 this video is a whole load of Bullshit. If in the year 2010 Nigeria has no constant electricity then its a big shame. What nigerians need now is constant electricity and Clean running water first. Then when they have constant electricity then they can now build the trains. Nigeria also has to be capable of fighting crime and curroption or else these trains will be another means for armed robbers and hijackaers use for their businesses.

  • joke of the century

  • even a promised chance remains a dream of what might be... is time for a national youth empowerment... lets create a forum that leads our opinions to be heard , and then adherence from our leaders can be achieved ...

  • @chyqueluv.Pls do follow on our Patriotic Movement on facebook to empower and achieve our God given African-Nigerian Dream like u rightly said where our opinions can be heard the name of the movement is THE PATRIOT AFRICAN FOUNDATION.

G" "THE CHANGE WE SEEK STARTS FROM US ALL AS PEOPLE IN NIGERIA AND AFRICA AS A WHOLE. GOD BLESS

  • ELECTRICITY First brothers

  • Comment removed

  • Na lie oh! lol. Trains need electricity. Which we do not have in Nigeria. Get electricity right first abeg.

  • FIX LIGHT NIGERIA GOVERNMENT DONT COVER YOUR EYES WITH RAilWAY MOST CHILDREN BORN IN NIGERIAN NAVER SEE LIGHT TILL TO DAY GIVE NIGERIAN LIGHT NOW.

  • well i think we all have the right to speak your mind. because we all are from nigerian no matter where we are. but let get this thing right. the project is good plan but let ask our self this question when are we going to have stable electricity. becos if we did not have electricity then the plan is reall fake. becos it will never work and i pray it will work just like from france to germany

  • Build niger-delta and stop this propaganda .lies .stop this lies .we are not impressed at all .

  • I am afraid this is another Big Elephant Project by the Government of Nigeria. It is a good plan but will it ever come to reality. I doubt it in my generation. Maybe in the generation of my grandkid. Those greedy old men still running the country will use this as another opportunity to enrich themselves. Thing are really getting worse in Nigeria. Those rogues must be eliminated to see development in Nigeria.

  • NIGERIANS of low mentality always believe on crap promises. 115 million nigeria are living in abject poverty. please pay teachers salaries first ,rebuild schools ,nigeria has no job .build the brain first . stop deceivng poor people. they actually believe on this impossiblity.

  • fix nepa first idiots

  • There's a big difference between computer animation & reality. They like to make big noise about projects that will benefit the masses, but it will never get done. A rail system connecting every corner of Nigeria sounds & looks great on computer, but making it a reality is a very tall order as corruption would never allow it to materialize. My advise is that those people in "high" places should stop kidding themselves. The culture of corruption is still alive & this ain't happening as a result.

  • shut ur dirty mouth up. damn ur so negetive. this project will work by Gods grace

  • In my own opinion, Lagos rail project should be complete before going national. The reasons is that this is very visible under Fashola administration. I am betting all others souther states(i hope north too) will follow suits and should there be any delay or failures then we will know where to point the fingers. Lagos got goodies going on right now...it's just the begining of New Nigeria.

  • All this can be done.Nigeria has money..it's d people in it that sucks..I just wish the Northern part of Nigeria b wipe out of the map

  • also im a little scared to have direct trains linking the north to the south of nigeria. who knows all kind of crazy heads coming to the south to kill christians. they already have rebel groups in Kano and all over the north eastern side of nigeria. if trains were to run all kind of crazy people will start running all over the place killing christians. they need to STAY where they are, far away from us.

the railway idea is a good idea but im scared of the outcome.

    I PRAY, OO!!

  • maybe if Fashola becomes the next president (i hope!) then this project can come true. but until then, i dont know.

nigerian government always promises things but most of them time its promise and fail!

but i think railway systems should be put up all over nigeria.

especially in lagos where the population is out of this world! even though they have bus systems running they are still going to need more than that.

but all of nigeria needs railway systems.

Naija 4 Life! I STILL HAVE HOPE.

  • Morticerigour should be ashamed of himself. I pray God helps him because he is seriously lost. Racist PIG!

  • Racist BNP. Shut Up!

  • well i beliieve let it start

  • Hmm, if they do this project, every single Nigerian will come back to Nigeria their country.

  • Glory be to God, this is so exsiting, can't wait, please start construction immediately.

  • why are you guys so full of disbelief and lack of faith! for once try to believe in the new nigeria!

because no matter what you say or do some of us are poised on taking this great nation to the next level!

  • STOP ALL THIS PESSIMISM. anything is better than not having it.

  • Shut the fuck up Nativeof Africa, before they plan it they are ready for it. If electricity do not fail go and switch it off. Oyinara

  • shut your pile hole, nonsense oloriburuku......shut up fool.

nigeria is progressing we dont need bad belle people.

    go die self.

  • lol

  • In virtual world that is ok. In real world, where is the electricity, what when corruption says no!

  • we are in trouble again. na part of my salary them go shop again nw, my God abeg help me oh...

  • I ve been saying it for years.Naija govt should consult with Dubai to find out on how they left oil dependency and transformed themselves into a top business and tourist destination.

Then again, trying to make Naija govt officials see sense, is like pulling teeth from a chicken.Or teacing Russian to Ajegunle Inkita(awon Bingo dem)

  • Na pipe dream be this. nay so so smoke dey dem blow up una yash be so. They dun already chop the money for the project by now.

  • I know where u coming from, but Bros, just try imagine for one minute if it possible say make this happen. No more over night Chisco,ABC bus. Less cars on the road

It's have been better to try a Lagos underground first( Island to Mainland) to see if it works.

It may be a fantasy , but it's good to dream once in a while, and as a naija person .Sometimes our dreams are all we have.

  • that design would mean when it rains heavily there would be many floods on the track, why build it in a ditch?

  • Its a pity that this doesnt not interest me. Cos modern trains of 21st centuries adopt straight rails. Why the curves and contours. Put the rail network underground or on arial platforms if topography and structures affect the straigt-rail network. DO NOT IMPLEMENT THIS CURVES. Its like buying a NEW black and white TV set.

  • my problem with this dream-project is that the contract was awarded to China which itself even relies on European technology to run certain parts of its own railway system. I see this as bad news. We shld have awarded it to tested and trusted countries like the US etc. Thats what is driving Dubai forward at jet-speed

  • fuck the US they dont help africa jus keep it in dark ages.

  • na so so projects then dey talk. NOTHING, HAS COME of this project yet. not even one broom has been used to clear any leaf from the dusty tracks. where is the electricity going to come from? which kain lagos to kano.. when they cant even build simple Lagos - ibadan. but i bet $5billion was spent in just making this yeye video with jackie chan talking. we dey siddon look una fool yaselfs

  • I hope the incumbent administration will finish with the implementation of this railway line.Great project indeed.

  • This is another DEAD project as OBJ was not able to impliment this during his tenure.

  • how can the south east is always forgotten, how come this project is only passing through Enugu and no other south eastern state. i just wonder.

  • here we go again another cry baby!

  • cause i bet you it's a private investor from Enugu is planing to build this.

Almost all the advancement happening in Naija; it seems private investors are the ones doing all that and those stupid idiots that call themselves Nigerian politicians are just taking creditfor those people's achievement.

  • It's private investment that boost the economy of any nation, not politicians. But we need a stable govt. in order for the investors to come in and invest, which OBJ and the current govt. is doing. No investor will invest because the politician said so, and no investor want to compete or drive out the Good lux buses that flurishes in the Eastern part. It will not make economic sense. Thank God for Nigerian Govt.

  • Are you talking about the same Naija govt, us Nigerians know. Abeg, open your eyes. I'll give Yaradua a little credit but Obasanjo(you dey crazy?) Abeg, no bring fanatasy to this, stick to reality.
