Hey Great video - Easy to follow and really enjoyable :)
I have just done a fun video called "History of pop in 100 riffs" , and this is one of the riffs featured in it - i love this song so had to include it.
Please check out the video on my piano and take the challenge to see if you can name the famous keyboard riffs ;)
Hope you keep on making these kind of videos , as i wish youtube was about when i took up the piano / keyboard.
All the best, and please have a look at my new vid
The tempo is too fast. You probably learned this by ear, but the second phase of the song, the "Outa College" part is played twice as fast as the first, but the third "Magic Feelin'" part goes back to the original tempo. Also the 3rd instrumental phase, before "One Sweet Dream" is incomplete, and isn't the original piece. However, tempo and instrumental aside, it was very good. Nice attention to detail.
Some of the fills seemed a note off on some parts during the beginning. Also, the middle sounded much too frantic, hurried, and claustrophobic. I would like to see another go at this song, though! Keep at it!
In the "out of collage money spent" part the right hand does other stuff besides just mess around with chords bit it's very difficult to hear in the recording. Also the left hand does the full walking bass througout that whole section
@AFNYOAQIS the right hand does a little jazzy improv stuff. I have the notes for it too. but the player in this vid did a little improv so it works it was the correct chords anyway
@AFNYOAQIS That's why it's called a cover. He added his own stuff, didn't play it exactly like the recording, and that's what makes it unique and AWESOME. Don't be a hater.
at first instance i didn't liked this song but now that you play it i'm starting to like it a little bit and it's because i have to play it too at my school and i have one month but because of personal reasons i have only learned the first 4 compasses or how ever you say it,sorry for my bad english for some words cause i dont know how to say them well
Very, very nice Sam. In some ways I prefer yours to the original. I heard an interview with Joe Cocker once in which he spoke of a telex Lennon & McCartney sent him saying they thought his version of With A Little Help From My Friends was better than theirs (and if you get the chance to see the Saturday Night Live episode where John Belushi does his version of Joe Cocker's - I couldn't stay on my chair! (rest in peace George, John, & John.))
Thanks HEAPS, that's very nice of you and much appreciated! Keep learning, it's the best skill to have, and thanks so much for saying I have inspired you, that is truly wonderful to hear!
Thanks very much! Yes, it's a great arrangement, I actually learnt it off a tutorial on youtube, the user is called pianojohn113. Take a look at his channel and you can learnt it! Thanks, please subscribe!
No, not really, if you listen to the song it's basically the same in tempo. And as for the volume, try turning your speakers down :-) But thanks for commenting!
Funny how you sabre down every critisism like a dictator. I know it's hard to be objective towards your own music, but if you want to be a good musician you should LISTEN and ACCEPT the things your AUDIENCE sais to you.
Wether you agree with them or not the AUDIENCE is always right, because they are the ones that have to LISTEN to it.
If you dont care about your listeners why bother putting this stuff up the web..
And LISTEN to the original song as well, the intro is played more gentle
Mate, there's no "sabring down". If you actually listen to the song (and turn your speakers down) then you'll see there's no problem. Of course I listen to what the audience says, but that doesn't mean the audience is right. If one person said someone was terrible and they should just give up, would that mean they are right? Of course not. Just calm down a little, and consider that perhaps you are wrong for once, Ok? Cool, I hope you don't take it the wrong way :-)
That was perfect, I think you play it better than Paul. Probably my favorite Beatles song too, so im kinda fussy when it comes to covers of it. Good job!
WOW, thanks! Saying I play it better than Paul is a very kind thing to say! It's a very good song, and there aren't too many covers of it! Thankyou very much for the comment!
