So Riku got his keyblade by Terra, Kairi got her keyblade from Aqua, and Sora got his partly because Ven is inside his heart. Yup. You know when they're so small all of them are really cute. They're still cute in KH but when they turn umm... 16 or 15 they like changed a whole lot. More... mature and hot. Well, they kinda were more defined and voices more deep.

So time must pass differently in all the worlds, since Kairi is way younger here than she was in the original KH, but none of the Princesses really seem to have aged since they appear in this game. Either that or Kairi and co. just grow really fast. Seriously, I think that they all packed several years of puberty into one year in between KH and KH2.

@moneeb23 yeah it's her home land. *SPOILERS* When Radiant Garden was corrupted with darkness (which is why it was called Hollow Bastion for a while), the necklace Kairi wore brought her to Destiny Islands, since the spell Aqua used was to protect Kairi in case something happened to her or her home. So that's why Kairi is shown in Radiant Garden and not Destiny Islands in this game, cause this is her birth place.

It was Apprentice Xehanort's Keyblade, its form transformed because of Riku's memories of home and thus, Kairi, from what the novels imply. Before you say it, it's not Aqua's Keyblade either, since Riku clearly has no access to that, even if he did meet Aqua in the Realm of Darkness.
