This was one great game! Very difficult, proper gameplay! I never had the jump cheat. I remember it required the pixel perfect jumps and the tricky maneuver when you had to pickup the object and quickly jump at the same time!
I'd like to see some little 12yr old twat who reckons he's hard as nails at Halo 3 and the like, try his hand at this little game, then he'd see just how good a gamer he really is.
I could not beleive it when they got this on the BBC Micro. I was stunned. I thought the memory issues would be too much. This is one game the C64 could not really do without being too slow.
there was another game exactly like this on the bbc b that we used to have but it was with a robot walking around called altern8 or sumthing like that had '8' in the name
my mate bought this on tape, but we had problems copying it... so i just had to load it up and leave it running to play. it ran for 3 weeks(!) solid before my mother unplugged the beeb in my room whilst she was hoovering... arrgh!
I had this cheat too - I seem to remember that it also froze the time so you didn't have the fit and changed into the beast. Still never completed the game though.
Good old Knightlore - if it wasn't finicky enough requiring pixel perfect jumps in 3D, it also gave you a character that would experience a debilitating fit at a really annoying time, e.g. behind dropping mines or jumping over a rising and falling nasty...

This was pretty amazing graphics for the mid 80's. I remember being stunned. Much better than the Spectrum version by the way.
