  • Apparently, I illegally owned this game outside Japan on the Saturn..? I didn't have that warning pop up on the copy I had. Grace's BGM music brings me back to 1997..

  • @personalfunfest So is your mom... until she took an arrow to the knee!!!!

  • Sonic The Fighters Rips Off Fighting Vipers

  • @teamnoah111 how when they are both sega?

  • This is what happens when Virtua Fighter overdoses on mountain dew

  • virtual fighters anyone....lol

  • Well it did use the PKG control scheme :P

  • @Outcastk2o wtf are you talking about, DOA is extremely like virtua figher. fighting vipers is different

  • @ROCKNINJA777 DOA uses only 2 buttons for attacks and is somewhat dependant on its countering system so i doubt it is like virtual fighter. but who cares. it is a genre. it's kinda like saying, oooooh ncaa is like madden......xD. there's only but so many ways you can do a fighting game or any genre for that matter.

  • @shinra358 Dead or Alive uses the VF2 engine. This explains why from a mechanics perspective they move similar. So in essence, you could say that DOA is very similar to VF2, however the game is indeed different thanks to the countering button (just like you said) and the Danger Zones.

Its a pity that Tecmo STILL don''t understand that its the Counter-system that made DOA amazingly unique, not the graphics. Which is why DOA1 is STILL the best.
