Timothy's Zahn book Heir to the Empire helped clear up the whole A-Wing fiasco. It was because the A-wing destroyed the bridge and the Imperial officers were disorganized due to the death of Emperor. It's not that the A-wing destroyed the Executor, the Emperor's over reliance on his amazing battle meditation caused massive failure when he died. Don't believe me, read about it in the book mentioned above.

I was reading a book the other day and it was talking about irony so hearing this song just reminded me that A-Wing is the smallest ship in the Rebellion and the Super Star Destroyer is well not counting the the Death Star 1 and 2 is the largest ship in the Imperial fleet. So the Super Star Destroyer being destroyed by the A-Wing is simply a slap to the face :D

How exactly was he proven wrong? Lando fires the final shot, otherwise he wouldn't have come out behind Wedge. Wedge fired at the power regulator on the North tower and then left, leaving Lando to fire on the main reactor. Wedge makes it out of the reactor tunnel long before Lando, and Lando just barely escapes before being engulfed in flames, ergo, Lando fired the final shot that resulted in the destruction of the second Death Star.
