  • Sick f18 drift

  • Fast and Furious: F/A-18 Runway Drift

  • and the blue angels are just sitting by, face palming away...

  • "I meant to do that..." - Pee Wee Herman

  • The pilot was feeling intimidated because the Blue angel pilots were there, so he threw in this bad ass landing and was thinking "beat that blue angel guys".

  • @nimaside Nothing intimidates Naval Aviators, a carrier landing at night in rough seas takes care of that.

  • that wasn't crashing... that was simply parallel parking that isn't covered by the no claims bonus.

  • Comment removed

  • everyone in the crowd thought this was part of the show lol

  • How the hell did he give a play-by-play, if it wasn't something that was apart of the airshow?!

  • @TinnInches Because he's watching it...you don't need to know what's GOING to happen to comment on what IS happening.

  • @m1ndfr34k117 The announcer is also a Naval AViator so he knows what the procedure is for the situation.

  • @Robbob9933 I was wondering about that; there is an actual procedure for that? I thought it was just lucky/talented last-minute decision making on the aviator's part.

  • He was crusin pretty good look no brakes.

  • I would have crapped my pants ... Wait i just did... Dammit

  • lol the commentator plays it off as if it was supposed to happen

  • @MrPhantompants well, I mean, it was the standard procedure for losing a tire on a runway that is awfully short.

  • So FSX is pritty spot on than hahaha

  • wiped out? still completed!

  • one day i saw a jet come by and i took a rope and lassoed it so far into the sky that the nose of jet caught on to it and i was drag a least 10 miles....true story

  • I like to know if the Blue Angels are goin to the F-35. I know that the Thunderbirds are going to the F-35 in like 3 years.

  • @USAF2409 It will be a long shot for either team to use the F-35 anytime soon but if they do switch in my life time i say the Thunderbirds should use the F-22 and the F-35 go to the Blue Angels but with the high cost it's a big long shot.

  • the fast and furious: F-18 drift

  • @yoyoyoyoshua Vin Diesel in:

  • @nascarwinner1 Thanks for clearing that up, I don't believe the Blue Angles use Supers Hornets but the one that spin out is definitely a Super Hornet.

  • @Daywalkertwentyseven The Blue Angels use the F-18A models for aircraft 1-6 and F-18B models for 7 and the rare numberless Blue Angel.

  • Fast And The Furious 6 American Drift

  • Why have a F18 perform at a same air show the Blue Angles are?

  • @Daywalkertwentyseven the blue angels don't do all of the manuevers that the F-18 can perform. they do alot of them but not all of them. and this was a F-18F which flies differently... I think since it's bigger and has more engine power.

  • I nearly flipped my fsx F/A 18 just after landing, see it on my "Underpant Bomber Intercept" video, was a terrible landing....

  • he forgot to pow wow it thats y he spun out hahaha

  • Fast& the Furious Tokyo Drift: fighter Jet version! awesome!

  • Handbrake turn like you've never seen it done before!!!!

  • was there that day, well handled... stopped the show for a while though

  • Still think the pilot needed a fresh pair of underwear after that landing.

  • @agwhitaker Nah. That was probably the fun part for him lol

  • > permission to do some drifts ?

    > granted :D

  • Like they say, any landing you can walk away from...

  • he should have been using a toyota celica !

  • @bingofioul

    Except that its FWD

  • How many people can say they've drifted a god damn F18?

  • @shadowxps and lived to talk about it? just 1, why?

  • @shadowxps That's badass!! LOL

  • Here... your taxes...

  • allright.. whos the asshole who stuck a nail on the runday -_- lmao but seriusly .... ace ventura would dig this... thats how u park a Rhino :)

  • one way to park your plane.

  • Thats was awesome tht is skill

  • You know you're a B.A. when you can drift F-18s.

  • Super Hornet Drifting Competition!

  • That is what you call great piloting skills. He does deserve applause.

  • Matt Bernhard (RIO) is my bro. he said that was the scariest thing that has ever happened to him. The pilot almost ejected with him for fear the engine had caught fire.

  • Who needs tokyo drift when you have stuff like this??? 'Merica!!!

  • i was there!!!!! haha...and all those people saying it was part of the demo.... ive been to every airshow for the past 12 years... and thts the only time its ever happend

  • he is like finnish rally masters

  • You should see this announcer narrate a crash! jk

  • You guys need to see more air shows, I've seen that manuver a dozen times...

  • @01platinumplayer bullshit.

  • American engineering fail

  • The commentator has done more then his fair share of airshows. I think he kept a quite good amount of wits about him feeding the audience that BS about "swinging it around". Big props to him, and to the eventual hours from the maintenance crew ripping the brake disc assembly off the axle.

  • because america... fuck yeah!

  • I bet that guy could tear it up with a Quad and make it look like he's chillaxin at the same time.

  • Ahhhh Yank commentators - truly the "BS" masters of the universe!!!

  • <3 blue angels

  • i thought i was cool cuz i could drift a car i was just put in my place

  • i didnt kno u can do a hand break with a fighting jet ,i thaught just my neighbour s honda civic can do it , looooooooool

  • Hand brake turn in a fighter jet!! WOW haha :P

  • Do they jack up the plane like a car to replace the tire?

  • @ALLERTORLOVER69 probably had to repair the whole gear

  • Comment removed

  • This guy may be the only pilot in history to ground loop a hornet HAHAHAA

  • Pilots: Shit shit shit shit shitt.. Holy crap.

  • Why did the speaker try to imply it was planned and under control? To keep everyone from panicking etc? He sure did a good job if that was the case.

  • too much money for that to be apart of an air show

  • As Ace Ventura would say, "Like a Glooova!"

  • Almost overshot his parking spot.....that was close...

  • looks like the end of one of my landings on flight simulator only no one died or flipped over...

  • @TheCessna154Pilot lol yea been there many times my self!haha

  • @gramosjr7

Why are you preaching on a youtube video about an f18 hairy landing? Just curious.. seems out of place

  • I was at that airshow when it happened everyone was so worried something bad would have happened to that pilot. Thank god it was nothing serious :)

  • Fast & Furious Runway Drift

    Rated R Now in theaters

  • @stickiller14 lol

  • @asre2001 I think what they were saying is that the bare metal is less likely to spark, get super hot because of friction and ignite when its digging into grass and dirt...much less friction than the runway surface.

  • VERY nicely done. What a pilot.

  • that was an instructor pilot, and a trainee. VFA106 gladiators, are the east coast F18 training squadron. so the pilot in charge knew what the hell to do, and when to do it. good job hornet pilots.

  • So wheres the wipeout?

  • Actually this is a real manuver, Ive seen it done before when a legacy hornet that had an incident. I dont know why they do it but i think they want to get the wheels in the grass a quickly as possible since they are made of magnesium and are very hard to put out when they catch on fire.

  • @redi4axion So what your saying is grass puts out magnesium fires? And all this time we have been using water...

  • @asre2001 Dude are you serious!?!? Please make sure you dont sound like an absolute dumb-ass before trying to make a smart comment. Magnesium creates its own oxygen while burning so water wont put it out, look it up. AFFF is used to put out those fires. Also please make sure you are confident that i dont know what i am talking about, because i used to be an F-18 mech.

  • Comment removed

  • @asre2001 Well he is correct sort of ~ You have to smother a mag fire. By getting in the grass it did smother it!

  • Jet drift!

  • You know how difficult it is to pull that off? o.O

  • i'd probably do something like that if i was flying lol awesome vid:-)

  • @Skybolter you dont know shit

  • You might think that i don't know shit, But when you face a situation like that, think twice shithead

  • I wanna try

  • This sort of thing happens when a tire blows out and brakes are suddenly applied. Trust me. I have a big history with these planes.

  • The announcer acts like they did everything on purpose

  • @PsuPepperoni well its better then being like "Ladies and gentleman!, This pilot blew his tyre, There is a Very good chance this f18 could Burst into flames and send Jet fuel your way!," or somthing :P

  • @PsuPepperoni No, he acts like expected everything that happened haha.

  • @flyboy4692

haha thats how I was trying to put it but my brain couldn't come up with it

  • @PsuPepperoni I had to think about it for a while myself!

  • @PsuPepperoni HELLOOOO they dont want anyone to freak out DUH

  • Thats AWESOME

  • like a glove....

  • why did he whip the tail around instead of just using the breaks?

  • fucking americans dont know shit about anything.

  • @robertsja9999 Jealous European POS!

  • @MRRANGERNUT hahahahaha jealous of what??

  • @MRRANGERNUT

weak huh? gave me a good laugh! jealous... LOL

  • @robertsja9999 Jealouse European POS. .. Everyone knows how weak you all are...

  • @robertsja9999 fucking people like you should go to hell. Hatred throwing peices of shit like you need tolearn that your bullshit leads to pointless deaths, battles, wars, and more. I really just want to take my jungle boot off and slap you silly across the head. Our BIA's in Britan love us, has we love them.

  • @austinjd1 type in youtube, "reasons why america sucks" interesting facts..

  • @robertsja9999 I ain't watching hatred filled videos. Its bullshit. All you need is to learn that you insult a nation that constantly tries to help others blindly because you got absolutely no fuckin intelligence. Its always about how bad America is with you people. I love my country. Nuff' said, you are grabassitic scum bag who needs to stop hating americans

  • @austinjd1 help others lol dont make me laugh

  • @robertsja9999 fuck you hatred spewing asswipe. If we didn't help the Iraqi's take down saddam, shoot all of the taliban, al qaeda, and jihadist, kids wouldn't live, women would be raped and killed and men would be forced to fight or die. We are not perfect by any means, but we try. But I know, there is always some sny comment to be made about known mistakes, like they were done on perpous.

  • LOL ... the narrator saves the day. in 26 years I've never seen a pilot with a blown tire do a "Brodey" onto the high speed ... ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

  • the crowd thinks they meant to do that lol

  • lol, i bet he passed his reverse parking sector in his drivers test with ease.

  • pocket parking with F-18... Nothing new ;)

  • this is amazing

  • Hey Honda, Drift this! lol. Realy interesting stop, i don't think i've seen a Fighter do that before.

  • I think the "flex capacitor" got stuck!-LOL. I was at that show, those fucking guys kick ass! Go Navy!

  • @dvl327 you guys dont know shit. so dont even try guessing, just enjoy the video, and ask the actual pilot that was in the f18.

  • @lolanubislol Hey fuckface! Can't you tell i was joking about the "flex capacitor". It's called sarcasm you dickhead! Actually that particular plane blew a tire while landing, look it up! You humorless bastard!

  • lol @ a gentle halt ...

  • Handbrake turn!

  • owned ;D

  • i was there when that happened they werent planning the tire pop but played it off anyways to demonstrate saftey and what not with the plane they left there for the rest of the show

  • oversteer

  • dang u ca drift them two lol

  • seems like he applied the brake too hard, he is lucky the brake did not caugt fire like the one we had in iraq, they should make that pilot work with the airframers and fix that main mount.

  • Airframers? main mount?

  • @JamesBrouillard airframers are the mechanichs that fix hydraulics and pretty much the skin of the aircraft, in the navy the plane is called airframe, the main mounts are the landing gears in the back.

  • @202000cabs dunno if its changed since I left in 83 but AMS is structural and AMH is hydraulics and the guys in line division change the tires. I was an AQ (fire control now combined with AT) with PQS in radar and fire control (F-4N and S) as well as plane captain after TAD in line division as well as corrosion control for AMS so I could yank panels for fire control computers so the AMS shop didn't have to stay late for us. (VF-21, CV-43)

  • @202000cabs LOL This former AMS is right there with you in that sentiment!

  • Ten points for moderator coolness.

  • grey angel ?? lol

  • yeah, it's like the power rangers, they had the red and blue and green etc, then the white came outta no where!

  • VERY GENTLE INDEED!

  • yeah what you dont see are the 12 hour shifts the crew chiefs have to pull to fix the tire, brake assembly, landing gear strut, and all the servicing.

Pilots a bad ass huh? right.

  • Amen from a crew chief brother. lol

  • Lock it up people....they landed, no braking action, selected emergency brakes (disables anti-skid), and blew a tire then skidded off. True story

  • their asses were grass after that im sure

  • I was at this air show, and I'm pretty sure that the pilots did not intend for this to happen, because you know it is sooooo easy to make a tire blow on command (for all you skeptics).

  • In my opinion, the brake was locked on that wheel. The pilot may not have even known it until touchdown. When the brake locks, the tire rapidly blows since it can't rotate. And since the tire is now gone with a locked brake, at slow speeds the aircraft will rotate around that wheel and spin to a stop (like it did in the end frames). Hopefully there will not be a brake fire, since everything gets pretty hot with all this happening.

  • The announcer said everything AS it was happening not after meaning the pilot did everything according to protocol. I would assume that almost every situation has a trained sequence of events. And i'm sure a flat tire falls into that category. But i'm not a pilot and assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups.

  • Great Poileting tho

  • Lol i was there he ired to act like they ment to do that he got a flat tire

  • lol i love how the announcer thinks that's what they were trying to do...that was an emergency situation the airplane almost damaged its million dollar engines...don't think the pentagon would've appreciated that much =P

  • Rob Reider is a professional, and a pilot himself. So no, he knows that's not what they were trying to do... he's just trying to remain calm for the audience. They seemed to be calm enough as it was anyway... I actually heard a few idiots laughing. Oh yeah... that was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Blown tires always make me laugh. Morons.

  • @thaanswerv

Yeah its funny how he plays it off as normal but you know the announcer doesnt think thats what they are trying to do, the announcer is an active duty FA/18 pilot too

  • ele deve ter dado um "catrapo" muito feio.

  • Land-based military airfields operating fighter or jet trainer aircraft also use arresting gear systems, although they are not required for all landings. Instead, they are used for landing aircraft on short or temporary runways, or for emergencies involving brake failure, steering problems or other situations in which using the full length of the runway is not possible or safe. Permanent systems are installed on nearly all U.S. military airfields operating fighter or jet trainer aircraft.

  • Heh Heh

Obviously, sneux, you have never heard of MAGS

  • Look at the tire at 0:03 its flat. No way this was done on purpose. I wonder what the pilots pucker factor was though. And why didn't he catch the wire?

  • Because he didn't know the tire was FUBAR until he landed. :p

  • So if he didn't know the tire was "FUBAR" then how was the announcer able to dictate the entire event to the crowd. The pilot obviously knew about the situation or the announcer wouldn't have been saying anything besides "OK this guys landing wow look at that."

  • Hey turkeys, read what I wrote... Annapolis Class of 1990.... Recognize irony and sarcasm when you see it....

Pdwman...what made you think I was a sandnigger? Stupid redneck....

  • Islam is the best religion in the world? wrong islam is the most retard stupid religion in the world you little terrorist

  • woaaah, really a terrorist spiked the runway....waoooo unbelievable.

  • Kesmit100, you should be ashamed of yourself..why would it be a Muslim terrorist? F18 in the Quran is the chapter that talks about Mohammed and his flying Arabian stallion. Muslims invented flight many years before the Wright Brothers ever left the ground. Islam is the best religion in the world!!!! All you people will come to love it once your all living in the stone ages again.

  • Islam is just a religion you sand nigger.

  • Okay, you STUPID dumasses....This was a demo of a extreme short runway landing, and the pilot landed with locked tiers, and slided to stop faster....God you stupid people shoulh not talk about things you dont know!!!

  • false. This was a malfunction. The military never intentionally threatens to damage its multi million dollar aircraft at airshows. This was an emergency that was handled smoothly by the pilot. And next time you intend to insult others you should do a grammar check so you don't make a fool out of yourself.

  • must have been a muslim terrorist that spiked the runway

  • I love how the announcer makes this out to be done intentionally. Hilarious

  • lmao seriously, "alright we're gonna slow things down a bit, watch the high speed pull off the runway, skidding around"

  • That's how you Tokyo drift, beotch!

  • did he save the nozzles?

  • very - good pilot
