the moon doesn't MAKE earthquakes, but it's strong gravitational pull does have an effect on the stress underlying the surface of the earth, ultimately plate tectonics are the main reason for earthquakes, not the moon, not HAARP, not humans.

My parents were living in Mexico city when this happenedThank God they lived in Coyoacan and my grand parents in Cuautitlan, cuz they say it wasn't that strong there.but my dad helped out with the recuse.He was there when they saved the babies at the hospital that had collapsed.

usally american houses are made of wood, which is not the same as concret...but u never now with nature...but why worry?? when the time comes it comes it has nothing to with your house...just have a normal life...

It depends on the substrate the house is built upon. If the house is on solid rock the waves from the quake will be dampened somewhat. Soft ground tends to amplify the effects, which is why the Mexico City quake was so bad. Much of the city is built on the former lake bed and the water table is still pretty high. Has kind of a jello effect when shaken. The Seattle waterfront is another bad area because it was filled in.
