This well be fun for me, coming from a Carrier based Sim. Pitty that flaring is not like riding a bike, alot of practice will be required. Cheers for sharing the video.
Excellent work ! One small point I would make regarding the abort procedure is don't retracted your flaps too early. The effect of retracting flaps is that the airplane will sink which is not what you want when you are low and slow. Wait until you have regained sufficient height before pulling them up.
I've received several comments and PMs regarding the nose drop during the go around. To be clear (which, admittedly, I was not in the video) it was to avoid a stall. As wurzzz has helpfully pointed out, it's not generally done during a go-around if one can help it. Happy gaming.
Minor critique: There is no need to descend during a go-around. Just maintain altitude during the clean-up and initial acceleration to Vy. A go-around should be able to be performed from any location (including 1ft above the runway), so descending isn't always an option and getting in that habit could be detrimental.
Otherwise, good vid. I look forward to more videos about the nuances of the weapons and navigation systems (I've got the basics).
@wurzzzz I figured someone might mention this. The purpose of dropping pitch in the video isn't to descend, but to buy airspeed quicker. If you're one foot above the runway, dropping pitch might not be an option. Jets lag with throttle feedback greater than in propeller driven aircraft and DCS models this pretty decently. Pitch adjustment, when available, is the quickest way to get additional speed to avoid a stall. However, you do raise a valid point.
@ExcessiveHeadspace I understand the reasoning (trading potential for kinetic energy and reducing drag by reducing AOA), but if you're aborting after a stall in a jet you've done something very wrong. In that special case, it would be important to reduce angle of attack in order to break the stall I agree.
Damn that was smooth! Ugh I have soooo much practice ahead of me! Very nice sir!

Impressive, this was newbie level tutorial? Then I wonder, who am I, I don't even know how to brake

Hey buddy, whats the key for air speed break? I could not find it.

Would I be wasting my money buying this sim to try to run on a 512mb vidcard laptop? Don't have to money to pick up a hotrod computer

@ExcessiveHeadspace Gear up first.... flaps aid in lift at low speeds

Another great video. Keep up the good work. Have you considered also doing an ILS landing video?

@1006pm Seems like it might be fun, once I have a chance to try the ILS out.
