It really depends on what type of practice setting you work in, how well the practice is managed, and what the specific role of the assistant is.  Also, the demands on a dental assistant in a small general dentistry practice are different from that of one in a large multi-specialty practice. Overall it can be a rewarding field with the right enviornment.

i have a job as a dental assistant that i start on monday, its on the job training and i have no schooling for it so i've been looking up videos to get an idea of what im doing and this video was great! definitely the best i have seen so far

@michaelcalleo the first day went really well!! i watched my trainer and she showed me how to hold the instruments and how to prepare the rooms for each procedure. its been 3 weeks now and i absolutely love the job and I'm really good at it! They also hired a girl who had gone to school for it, and most everyone who sees what i do says I'm better than her, and that I'm a natural! I decided I like it so much that I'm going to go to college to become a dental hygienist! :)

I have seen many Dental Assistant videos on Youtube, and I have to say that this is the best one that I have seen. What I like about this video, is that it is very thorough and interesting to watch. The dentist and dental assistant seem to be very professional, and I am able to see exactly what is expected from a dental assistant from the beginning of the day to the end. I have watched this video three times, because I will be entering into a Dental Assisting Program this fall. Good job!!!
