  • awesome video wow cool indeed

  • i can't believe that i watched the documentary of you guys a couple of years back and i didn't even realize that was you until now. -_-

  • Tempest: 100000000

  • I have my jaguar.....still in the box.....STILL IN THE BOX

  • Tempest: Over 9000.

  • mark could you please tell us what happened to dave?

  • Mark, I love ya, but THE JAGUAR ROCKS GODDAMMIT!!!!!!!!

  • U guys gotta get a Jaguar and review more games! It would be hilarious!

  • dave ! :D

  • My alltime favorite game XD

  • does anyone know the name of the song that's played at the end of the video ?

  • THEY'VE GONE TO PLAID! I love that

    I miss Space Balls

  • I don't know (BTW, my name's Mark too & I am an "Angry Nerd", but it's a LONG story as to why I'm "Angry" & it's got nothing to do w/ anything here or on Youtube).... but I'm almost 6'3" tall & like 250 to 275-Lbs (I'm a big/strong nerd). I raced motocross until I got hurt real bad in 2003 & was had to "retire" from it. but I wanted to say, is, this console seems like it should have been competing against Playstation 1, N64, Sega Saturn but I recall it being out like 2 or more years earlier...

  • @thedeem0N The Jaguar's competitor was the 3DO. The Jaguar was released in 1993.

  • Man Mark, you even beaten the Angry Nerd, nice job!

Man atleast your not like AHHHHHHH,and throwing your controller out the window or literally break a CD and throw away the worst CD-i games in the world!

  • This game was also available on the original Playstation, as Tempest X. Even had it's own soundtrack.

I admit I never played the original Tempest in the arcade...but the updated home versions are a blast.

  • To be perfectly honest, the description on the back of the box is entirely accurate. That's exactly how I prefer to enjoy my Tempest 2000.

  • This review is oddly.....relaxing.

  • 3:47 Tempest 9001. It's over nine thousand.

  • if you like Tempest, you should try out Space Giraffe for XBLA, it's only $5 and is made by the guy who made Tempest. It's basically the same game, only crazier, if that's possible.

  • Jags are like 50 bucks nos :(

  • WTF. Why am I listing to your pathetic voices, when this has one of the best chip / tracker sound tracks ever, yet I cannot hear it. Shut the Fuck up!

  • "that's right, biznitch"

    made my day

  • do polybius rom review

  • One of the funniest CGR episodes EVER. thanks

  • I can't remember my own name!

  • Thumbs up for Dave's pimple on his forehead! :'D

  • Did you Try Rayman on the Jaguar?

  • MELT-O-VISION!

  • And how does this feels in 2010!

Even the game room is classic now.

  • CGR > AVGN

  • hahaha Mark is FUCKED UP!!

  • This is tempest 2000???? I used to play this all the time! I couldn't remember the name though!

  • It's a giant piece of bacon!

  • ALCOHOL FTW!!!!!

  • these guys need to stick to Mario reviews....... or drink more....

  • I think this was there last review.

  • it is that good...imagine space invaders, only in the third demention. plus its very addicting :3

  • I've spotted a person who's never played a classic arcade game!

  • @kairaa Well, I had a 2600 and 7800... so I played classic arcade games for hours on end... would rather have been playing Nintendo but my parents were cheapskates. It just doesn't seem like a very deep game for the universe's most powerfulest video game system ever, El Jaguar.

  • @10072018 why? its an arcade game and at first it may seem bad, but when you start playing it you can think its like space invaders, or a space ship shooter from a different perspective with different shaped fields that can be quite hard to master strait line is easy but things like swirlys and others can get quite challenging. Look up the sound track, Im not one for that style of music, but I can't not say its great music and fits the mood perfectly

  • a tempest is a violent storm or whirlwind and this game is like flying through adigital storm

  • multivision!LOL

  • Anyone who want this, play Typhoon 2001

  • These guys are great!

  • i have never played this game b4

  • Mark, if you smoke pot, I'd love to smoke it with you lol.

  • this game is so awesome......

    and still is 2 day

  • T2K is the emulator of choice for this classic.

  • i love the tempest games

  • how does Tempest 2000 compare to ports to Play Station 1 etc.

  • Ludicrous Speed!

  • Melt-O-Vision!

  • dude wheres that guy now?

  • I have a copy og SImCity 3000 right on my lap <3.

  • That's almost as stupid as the old Transformers episodes, in which we had hoverboards, robots, transforming cities and spaceships. In 2004.

  • I love Dave's "Ladies and Gentlemen" damn I hope one day they can get back together for at least one video ;)

  • You guys should review the Atari Jaguar system and controller. It was Atari's biggest mistake since the 5200.

  • It didn't make much money, though I'm not sure why. I have my Jaguar hooked up, and I really like it. The Doom port is the best I've ever played on a console, and I am extremely addicted to Zool 2. Not to mention another great game that premiered on the Jaguar: Rayman.

It was a mistake, I just don't know why. It wasn't extremely expensive, the graphics were ahead of its time, and some of the games were really fun. Maybe it was just crappy marketing or because it was hard to program for.

  • I know. It's not as bad as people say, but it was Atari's mistake with their timing and marketing. They released it only one year befor the PlayStation and 3 before the N64. It was outmatched from the start. That's why I said it was Atari's biggest mistake since the 5200. Also, the 5200 was only bad for its short lifespan and high chance of breaking down, as well as poor marketing. 2 of those 3 bad things ended up also happening with the Jaguar.

  • I think we can all agree it was ahead of its time. It was primarily competing with the SNES and Genesis, and it technologically, it kicked both of their asses.

I did a little research, and a bit problem was that it was really hard to program for. The hardware was different that the Genesis and the SNES, and therefore no one but little companies bothered. I wish they had, then the original Atari would still live (the current Atari is just a brand name, not the same company).

  • I got one too. I liked Raiden, Wolfenstein, and Alien vs Predator on it. :D

  • wheres the section for reviews of jaguar games on the site?

  • I wish the Jaguar was 2 bucks now...

  • Mine only cost 27...15 (including shipping) for the console, 12 for the AV cable. The console was actually sort of broken (the RF out didn't work), so the AV was a must.

    Nonetheless, it wasn't extremely expensive.

  • A lot of haters on this site. I agree that wasn't a review. I got tired of them spouting off one-liners and stopped watching it about 4 minutes in.

  • DL;DW.

  • Melt-o-vision and "mind blowing assault of the senses" all in one game? I don't think I could handle that.

  • Does the atari jaguar have a joybox? I heard they have been making joyboxs since the first systems and i need one for the jaguar controller. plz tell me.

  • doom was good to

  • whatever happened to Dave?

  • they split up just like the beetles! :'(

  • that's sad

  • who's john?

  • This game was also released for playstation which had music during the stages. Exact game play, but the cheezy techno music, too far.

  • You do realise the Jaguar version also had that excellent (NOT cheezy, get your facts straight) techno music as well, right?

  • Fact, but don't dictate to me about MY opinion of music. Thanks for the heads up.

  • i did know it it was a game system with 64 bits man i thought sega genesis the uniq best system heehe!

  • I think Melt-O-Vision needs to make a comeback..

  • ahh, these guys are freakin classic

  • Good review

  • This isn't in response to my question on your 7800 Asteroids video is it? :D

  • It could be. Or it could be chance. Who can say? -CGRHD

  • @InecomCompany It may be irrelevant, but where is dave in the newest episodes?

  • @ScrewAttackEurope sorry i didn't porpousely mark down your comment

  • dude Mark is soooooooo much better than the irate gamer, Mark actually is talented

  • i know i know, i said that before i realised what an ass irate is, he dosnt interact with the youtube community or anything. angry video game nerd is in alot of ways like mark, he makes alot of difrent stuff and great reviews, BUT, he didnt create the amazing, the powerfull, WIND SQUID!

  • hell yes, Mark is the king

  • @boomstick545 What isn't better then irate gamer?

  • The holocaust... wait... that's actually better than him.

  • If you watch the alternate cut of this review it makes even less sense. -CGRHD

  • @InecomCompany You are my hero. :3

  • @InecomCompany

And I though me being funny :)

  • oh well its funny to watch

  • The game has meltovision. That's all you need to know.

  • that automaticly makes it the best game eva!

  • He is telling us what his opinion is on the game. If you listen real hard you might here what they think of the game, which is what a review is....its basically telling us about the game and what they think of it.

  • @wolfpacsyxx Thats why there awesome in every way

  • That was rad! Its always cool seeing the now old school episodes. I have to quick questions for you. One is why do you bleep out the swears? And the other is was the bottom image of the sand and keg and stuff blocking the view of the mics that you guy normally would use?

  • Both good questions. 1- It would get booted from youtube with F bombs. 2- The floor was 1970's brown carpet. The kegs and beers look better. CGRHD

  • Oh awesome. I leave the F bombs in my videos. But then again I am not a partner or care about stuff like that really lol. I keep my episodes as well so I could always sensor them if it came down to it. Thanks for the reply.

  • I meant two quick questions haha. Please do not use my skill to make type-o's the comment section against me haha. I always wanted a Jaguar. Not because it was good just because it was a weird console. DO THE MATH!

  • We'll turn your typos against you and destroy you with MELTOVISION.

  • I have to say the bleeps always made me laugh. Just something about the bleep sound (especially when they do it a LOT like in the Robotron 2084 review). The bleeps were in since the shows first went up so to me they're just a part of the GR series. Another awesome classic review, loved it! BTW Mark do you still have the blender you traded your Jaguar in for and still had to pay a few bucks? I remember you said it was a pretty good blender :D

  • Oh cool I was unaware that they have always done that. I am one of the newer veiwers. But I watch every singe episode that Mark puts out they all rock. Haha blender for an Atari Jag? Thats pretty funny lol.

  • Oh yeah, I was one of the gamr room freaks back in 99-2000 watching them on a little tiny box on my screen, the bleeps were there lol Still a freak for the show now, Mark does great work, has similar gaming taste to my own and has a killer sense of humor. The blender reference is from the Kasumi Ninja review, they mention it at the end, I believe after Mark wakes Dave up lol

  • fantastic, i love your reviews

  • i loved the intro

    good stuff
