Glad everyone was okay... bad crash indeed.

Certainly doesn't bode well for carbon fiber as a material for bikes though... that BMC she was riding broke in half -after the actual crash- and seemed to snap as its front wheel hit the track surface while still upright.

Horrific to watch, again glad all the ladies were okay.

@istablista The crash has nothing to do with carbon fiber as a poor bicycle material. Designers purposely make those racing bikes as fragile as possible to give them a speed boost. Those bikes are not designed to maximize damage survivability - that is not even considered. If you want to make a carbon fiber bike stronger you can always just simply add more material in the right places.

@istablista That frame was already stressed pretty badly when he ran into the person on the ground. Ultralight frames are designed to stay together through riding stresses, not crashing stresses.
