The first telephone was made by Johann Philipp Reis. And it gives me hope for mankind when I saw someone else post it too. Who cares if Bell copypasted Meucci's work, Reis still made the first functioning telephone independently from both of them.

You may look up the history of the telephone ( telettrofono) if you wan't, but I doubt you ever will. The resolution stated that "if Meucci had been able to pay the $10 fee to maintain the caveat after 1874, no patent could have been issued to Bell."

@mixitaliano Bell and Watson were the first to transmit speech. Meucci was only buzz and clicks. Credit still goes to Bell. You could never talk in Meucci "sound telegraph." Like phones today you speak in them. So the invention goes to Bell. Bell didnt steal anything there both two different invention. One is far more advanced.

On June 15th 2002 the US congress "finally" ricognized Meucci as the real inventor of the telephone.
Meucci couldnt pay the licence for his invention and so Bell stole it.
