but generally pronounce characters are written on the side of Kanji.

(because historically Manga were published as books for children.)

So Manga books are easy to read, more than other Japanese books.

Even If you learn only the grammar, pronounce characters and

a few spelling rules of Japanese, You may read Manga books.

(But magazines for adult OTAKU are not easy to read...)

We have Otaku USA and Anime Insider, but i heard that anime insider might be getting shut down. Part of the reason why they get shut down is because everyone that as heard a person that watched Subs talk about Dubs gets the wrong impression of Dubs and never buys anything to support the american anime industry.
