@DanZaccagnino make shure you have a good size piece of skin to step on and remeber dont step on the tail that will break off you need to step on the little skin tab then pull stright up....hope this helps.

this method works great for grey squirrels, or young fox squirrels that have been killed recently in mild weather. But the colder it gets, less time it takes for the sq to stiffen up, and this method can make a mess of a stiff sq, or a tough skinned older grey or fox squirrel, you'll rip it in half. Or maybe im doing it wrong... works on the small ones though, the ones that are still warm and loose that is..

Rabies is extremely rare in squirrels. They don't usually live in crowded communities so they don't exchange many diseases with each other. Any rabid animal that bites a squirrel will nearly always kill it and probably eat it. In fact, there has never been any recorded cases of humans infected by a rabid squirrel in the USA.

I usually use the scissors on my pocket knife because it works the same way as the knife used here.More leverage when cutting through the tailbone. @David8Parkour:just reach your finger inside the critter and sweep the guts out,taking care not to tear anything as you do so works best for me.You don't even need the rubber golves to do it.

out of all animals to skin the squirrel has to the triquest hard to keep the hair off and it is hard to keep it from break into sometimes the taill skinning trick is a good method and it is a lot easier and it dont make such a big mess.
