I've owned an '06 Cobalt SS non-supercharged for 9 days now, and it's pretty sweet compared to the 2000 Cavalier I had for 7 years. The Cobalt has a bit more power of course, but it's also a little heavier, and the steering feels less reassuring. Then again, I haven't really pushed it yet. I've noticed a lot less lean in the suspension in turns, but that shouldn't be a surprise with an SS.

If you can get the right price, I'd recommend this car. But don't expect it to be a real sports car.

@mr2drifking yea i was thinking of getting the turbo but the insurance is way to high for my age lol (17). I was close of getting the supercharged version but now im thinking of getting a 1997 mitsubishi eclispe gst

@mr2drifking yea it might of been a 7 bolt engine. The one they r selling is a 6bolt engine with a 16g turbo. Basicly more then half the mods are done and no crankwalks. Its around 5 grand.

@ADD8oi Around 280rwhp to be exact. I have a bud at my school with an 06 Cobalt SS/SC with those mods. His car is pretty quick when he is running a boost.

GM really under rated these cars in performance when they first came out. I think they did it on purpose. They say they have 205 to the crank but i think it is more around 250-260.

@ADD8oi Yes I did. I am so use to saying rw instead of fw. As for the 205. I have another buddy with an 06 ss/sc cobalt that is completely stock that made 235fwhp. Now tell me this if they get 205bhp how in the hell did he get more to the wheels. It is easy GM under rated these cars hp and tq.

theres not that many reviews on just the lt or ls, the ones i'm looking at. although the ss is superior, i can't afford it and im young so i don't need performance.
