These graphics look charming, and really reduce the scale of the game. Although, if you played the original Transport Tycoon, you'll remember the resolution wasn't particularly high in the first place. An interesting way to bring 3D to a game that's still fundamentally 2D. I'm reminded of Japan's 'Take the "A" Train!' series.
I don't understand many of the comments on this video. Surely the players of this game should be older than their command of English suggests.
@CameronStewart yeah the reason was that developers were not trusted to the 3d design very much so far and the switch form 2d to 3d can go badl ywrong as we see with this game ^^.
I bought this years ago before I had a PC after playing TTD on a friends comp, but this version is incredibly glitchy and slow, especially as you progress and develop your transport system. I remember orders randomly dissapearing, and other random stuff happening, till it became unplayable. was a shame, because I was obsessed with TTD back then!
TT doesn't look good in perspective 3D graphic. It's better remains in isometric 2D. Well I do want a fully 3D traffic construction sim. But not the like of Sid Meier's Railroads!...

I always found that A-Train was way more realistic and difficult, but less user-friendly

This actually is the playstation 1 version of the game transport tycoon released in 1997.
Iirc there was an option to switch from normal isometric view to this full 3d mode. I always found isometric better <3
