I say eventually when things hit you face to face later there will be no hiding what should have been dealt with before, now.

i have so many opinions on so many different parts of this video. the one that gets to me most is the mans dream. the concrete terminus didnt belong in nature, which i imagine is how the man feels about the city, that he doesnt belong in this man made world, but free in nature. but i cant be certain because i dont know what the others dreams are, just that they each have their own terminus. any opinions? im really trying to figure this out. lol
I did this to people in the park!!!!! I did great except the only difference was I couldnt hold the laughter. So I was instead some random girl laughing with crazy eyes. Then i danced and walked away laughing.
The man was trapped in a modern society that he wanted to be freed of. In his dream, he is the stone person. At the end, the stone person looks at him. The stone person's head has a mark similar to that of the man's head when he falls off the bed. The man thought he had no escape. Get followed by the monster, or be the monster.
Love this video!!!!! I recommend this to any- one who loves unicorns & "far out" stuff such as this. No matter how many times I watch, the voices of the fellow unicorns are so comical you have know choice but to laugh.
I've watched this movie over 10 times this week as I am using it with my Japanese University EFL class. My opinion changes each time I watch it. I would like to know the director/producers take on it.
If not for the last shot, you could say it's simply an illustration of a psychotic break, which were quite common in the '70s. But since the entity moves to another person, we can only view them as symbols of postmodern capitalist anxiety.
If you watch carefully you will see the other objects in his work building. The colored pac man like wheel at 2:52 if you look behind him, he tires behind another terminus like thing that later follows a lady at 2:33. The only thing I could use help with is that girl's statue which looks like a person trying to hide. at 6:31
This could probably be viewed in the context of good teachers vs bad teachers. The bad teacher makes you fight him first so that he can break you. He then must let you win. The problem is that you never know when he will let you win or when he is going to beat the shot out of you. These teachers are also passive-aggressive.
I just woke up and realized that it is about slavery and the modern worker. Each item that is following the individual is actually noticing or "seeing" the worker, but these people can't take being seen. The "terminus", or the "end" means that they have nothing left, all these lonely people do is work. They are things, just like the "things" the termini represent: concrete, wood, the escalator, the signs. Everybody uses these things, but nobody ever pays attention to them. The sarcastic dan
The blood on the terminus seems to be reflective of the original owner. I was beginning to think that the terminus was a manifestation of the working mans need to be child again, but because this is impossible the terminus is represented by a concrete statue that hardly moves. The man is running from his internal need to be s child, this unmovable and unrelenting emotional state that is always with him. That is, until the terminus moves on to the next person. Then it became confusing.
i wouldn't mind having a stone statue like that stalking on me and seems pretty cheerful and cute fella to be with. better then perverts which some don't make sense~

The beings that I think I understand are: The wooden one, the conveyor belt one and the rolling one. Since the owner of the wooden one was smoking, it symbolizes her smoking habit. The conveyor belt symbolizes the fear of escalators (rather common but rather crippling). As the owner of the rolling one (a piece of art) was well dressed, she might be an artist and the being symbolizes the work of a more successfully competitor, rival, or apprentice.
@NotFromRussia19 That statue looks like its depressed, scarred, or protecting itself from being beaten by her abusive father. Probably the abusive father lol

Terminus is one's mind telling you that it should be used, but instead, one decides to turn his back and deny it. One denies the reason, and so it denies this objective reality. Doomed to trust on its emotions and instincts only, it will loose its identity value. One will wait for something to happen. One will die.
I imagine some of my solutions to this. I might have said hello, asked if he liked dancing... maybe start a conversation... asked if he wanted to sit down... if he ignored me and followed me I might introduce him to others. Now if he stalked me...
Me: You're made out of stone. You know what stones dont like?
Him: ...
Me: Sledge hammers. *grabs one* You're about to be gravel.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Since everyone has one of these bizarre objects following them - perhaps representative of some "secret sin" or burden that haunts them, it would seem that everyone has something in common. The animated inanimated objects were keeping their person in terror as if in a dream as his token to reality. Kind of like the work-a-day world. What a brick!
Actuallly it was really good! And if you didn't get the hint by the last statue covering itself, then you missed it completely. The concrete guy was the homeless people in the subway always asking for change, the waiting at the bus stop, the concrete that seems to trap you in the city. I think from there it's pretty easy to understand the rest.
I think this has to do with death. Death is always looming near us.
Each person has the object or material that will be of significance in their death looming over them, in the humanoid shape.
When we first realize how close death is, we have the chance to live life joyfully even in the presence of our own death. Most of us fear it instead, because it is unknown, and in our attempts to flee from death we end up dying.

Here's what I think.
The film's about commuting, and what it does to your psyche. The stress of modern life, etc, and how it slowly drives people insane.
Why do I think so? The entities are all objects from the terminal. That, as a commuter, I spend two hours a day on public transport. Ugh.
