I don't know who told you that, but its complete bullshit. Mac Pros are NOT fully customizable. You can customize it within the parameters Apple dictates. On a Pc, you could add a Waffle on a PCIe bus if you wanted too.

The specs on that iMac would cost you no more than $800 if you we're buying a PC. Also, just because they run on i5s doesn't mean they can game. Games rely on CPU, GPU, and RAM. The stock CPUs are all under 3ghz until you head to the most expensive one. And once you're there, the only option is a 6970.

So, once those parts are in there, and you try to game, you will likely end up doing damage to your computer, because Apple is form > functionality when it comes to fans. My Macbook started overheating while playing Counter Strike: Source. Thats pathetic. And in general, that rig I spec'd will only be a good for gaming for about 5 years, and cannot be upgraded. So what will the Mac gamer do then? Spend $2500 more?
