Just to clear things up, the E320 CDI with 4MATIC is not available in the USA. To get 4-matic in a diesel, you have to go with the R, GL, or ML (and maybe that big post war tank they build).

can i just point that it isnt a 3.2 v6 diesel engine. it is actually a 2.9 v6 diesel engine. quality car though :)

@scook1100 No it's a 3.2 litre straight 6 actually. The later ones (both 280 & 320) were 3.0 litre V6's but in different states of tune.

@scook1100 you're wrong! exist a 2 versions of e280 cdi and e320 cdi :

280 cdi:

3.2 r6 with 177 hp engine

3.0 v6 with 190 hp engine

320 cdi:

3.2 r6 with 204 hp engine

3.0 v6 with 224 hp engine

People say Americans don't like diesels but really what diesels are actually available? This car large trucks expensive suv's, the only inexpensive one is the Jetta TDI.

this isn´t 2006 because it is the inline 6 engine ...the 2006 have got a v6 engine!! but the inline 6 engine is much better than the v6!!!!!!!!

Agree. The I-6 is the simplest and best engine ever. With a really long history too... Look at the full size trucks with 12-16 liter inline 6 cylinder engines :) They're making over a million miles without any major repair needed if they're well maintained. I have a 87 Mercedes 300DT (3.0L turbodiesel) with 253.000 miles on it still running perfectly, and I'm planning on buying the 2005 e320 cdi. Best cars ever!

In America diesel cars have a bad reputation but over here in Europe they account for 70% of car sales.

The latest generation of diesel cars produce phenomenal in-gear acceleration.

I have to add to this conversation...I think people who've never driven a diesel cannot appreciate the uniqueness and difference in sheer power that the diesel engine produces. I only wish they had a high-performance diesel, or at least a 4MATIC with AMG Sport Pack.

ya it relly is a great car and does hav a great bit of torque for the 3.2 liter engine

ive been in a jeep grand cherokee cdi and drove it. i like the pull off the line, but i do not like the low rpm shift and sound.

Mercedes did made a E420 CDI (W211), with V8, 314 hp and incredible 538 lb ft diesel engine!! But i haven't seen any E420 CDI with 4MATIC.. (maybe because of that amount of torque)

But I've seen a lot of E320 CDI with 4MATIC..

Mu uncle owns a 06 E350 4MATIC, and it's really a great 4-wheel-drive system..
