  • a masterpiece

  • bass line clearly influenced by Jaco Pastorius style. And it's a good thing. this piece is AWESOME

  • Yazz fluting it

  • Zender is eatinng this groove alive...smh

  • jamiroquai´s 3 first albums were the best in my opinion, but i like their new songs aswell. But i think rock dust lighstar was much better than their other recent albums. so maybe one day they will sound like this again. just maybe...

and i think people should stop complain about zender not being in the band. he was really good, but all of the bassplayers they have had are good

  • pure sex from 2:17

  • 2:34 just PERFECT song :O

  • This song is perfection.

  • it sounds like donald byrd

  • Jamiroquai please get back to your roots... specifically THIS

  • @jorgecds maybe if Zender came back...one can only dream of a day

  • gosh this music makes me jizz my pants

  • these fucking stupid kids taling about mainstream music pretend they know the most exquisite type of musical form....shut the F up....this is real good music end it hipsters....

  • @MrEuphonious You failed bad trying to get LIKES =b

  • I think they should rename this track "Medicine of the mind"

  • this song has spyra gyra,herp albert,chuck mangione,dexter wansel,roy ayers,bossanova,samba,batucada,jazz,absolutely amazing!!!!

  • This songs makes me want to have sex

  • my favourite piece. ever.

  • Every time life seems meaningless to me, i listen to this peace of heaven..

I think it's a crime against humanity that these musicians do not play together anymore. And that Jay Kay turned from my greatest idol in life into a narcissistic sellout. If i had musicians like Toby Smith and Stuart Zender in my band i would lock them up in my basement.. You let them fly away Jay... Fuck you Jay Kay..... <3

  • @denleendeantilope I couldnt agree with you more.... He's snorting too much of that cosmic rock and punching photographers in the face... After kicking out Zender and Smith, things were never consistent since Toby is the one who co-writes alot of the songs from '93 to '96..

  • @plasmametroid who could care about consistency? Jamiroquai has predicted so many sonic trends since their inception. You all better watch, their cycle is up to about the 2005 songs. So I'm expecting a recourse of Disco (Don't give Hate a Chance)

  • @denleendeantilope As much as I like Jamiroquai, I agree with you that it was an effen shame to let Zender go. Who in their right mind would do some shyte like that?! The band has never been the same. The latest RDLS is not hitting my sweet spot. - sorry Jay. "Smile" is reminiscent of what I love about their sound but the other tracks are not that great :C

  • Music of the mind... music of the arm.... music of her mind... music of my arm... music of my mind... music of her mind... music... so music!

  • just one of the many examples that Jamiroquai is so much more than Jay

  • jamiroquai: the good ol days :0)

  • i feel like making love all of a sudden..

  • Thats the great thing about this band, they have a song for every emotion, except for anger....

  • I came. Twice.

  • @ProgRockMickyV2 ...don't get any on the mouse.....

  • where can i find more musics like this one?? good jazz and no or almost none vocals?

  • @Iownz4ll 'stereolab' is nice. also, 'la planet savage - strip tease'

  • @Iownz4ll Miles Davis. You're welcome :)

  • This is the icon of 90's

  • I know people that never heard about jamiroquai... When they told me that i allmost kill them.

  • 6 people have no minds, I mean seriously!!

  • @mitsumivec4life - it is always nice to share even if people don't like what you give out...chill...this is like the 70's Tower of Power...good music indeed.

  • This is funky!

  • who are the 6 retards that dislike this epic music

  • @50Robotized easy does it

  • Are you anxious? Listen to this and just be coooool.

  • @asmfc1994 and then let your soul dance

  • Jay Kay was a successful producer who always said he could do better. His friends said 'prove it' and starting in 92 he began laying golden eggs, creating some of the best music ever in the history of humanity. A lot of knockoffs today like Phoenix, only without the sizzling funkay moves or the message of enlightenment (cough).

  • This song>>>>>>WUT CAN I SAY? I LOVVEEE IT!!!

  • JAMIROQUAI ES LO MAXIMO ¡¡¡¡

  • Sounds just like that classic 70's funk!

  • Fantastic!

  • ingenious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very good

  • caught this by accident...i love all kind of music....though jazz is my first love...when i came across this song...i thought this is brilliance at its best...

  • o how time flies by

  • N!!!!CE, VERY.

  • Love it!!

  • I think they (Jamiroquai) are appreciated by the "real" music heads. Those who can't really relate to good/pure music are drawn to mainstream music. I'm glad to be blessed with their music and glad it ISN'T that mainstream junk.

  • @lilhavin I feel exactly the same way!

  • @lilhavin Well said.

  • @TheYoungSuccess Hey, thanks :)

  • Who actually makes the string parts of Jamiroquai songs?

  • god created us in a fraction of a second while spending ages to create this band.... when hearing JJ I get so jealous... what a talent...

  • fucking love it !!!!

  • i love this music

  • i wanna make love with this song playin on the background

  • @blackjewelz11 wow... I thought I was the only one who thought that would be a good idea! the violins... they're what made me think of it. they get pretty intense at some point in the song...

  • Beautiful!!

  • I love to hear from friends when I get home on Saturday night by three years now I have this habit has become like a ritual ...

  • If ANYONE can tell me what that synthesizer is at 1:50 on, i would be SOOOOOO grateful! i've been on a MISSION to find out how to create that sound....

  • @rtoriq Try a google search on: toby smith jamiroquai piano

    ;o)

  • @rtoriq moog synthesizer, probably a minimoog. there's several VST versions which are good, but wont sound exactly like toby's. sounds to me like a square wave + triangle, use the filter and use oscillator 3 as an LFO to modulate the cutoff frequency.

  • TOP !!!

  • unlike other singers and rappers, Jay Kay takes the time to make it right

  • sex music

  • thank you for your songs... the best on the worlds!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • was just importing my album of jk on to the pc and found out this song is known as music of the wind

  • i fucking love the ending where it goes into swing mode!!!! they are officially the most underrated band that has ever existed!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666, I agree, that is best part, Early 90s Jamiroquai Line-up was on point on every song.

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 YESS! exactly,, damn

very underrated, and i gotta say they're my current most favourite band, i especially like Jay Kay ;)

but some shetty music out there just doesnt deserve their prestige

  • 2:18 > 4:55 > Samba infused rhythm, specially the bass. Awesome song!

  • Clássico! Adoro essa música do Jamiroquai.

  • mmmmm MMMMM mmmmmmmMMMMMMM EARGASM!....*grabs a snack and goes to sleep*

  • Amazing.....I love this track

  • Stuart Zender was only 18 or so when they recorded this. He was pretty funky even then!

  • this song may not have any lyrics but the groove and the melody speak far more than a thousand words.

  • I just love this song...

  • Wooooww...it's beautiful!

  • 5 personas han debido equivocarse de boton cuando querian votar positivamente

  • Jamiroquai had a few of instrumental songs (none on RDLS, WFT?) but this is the best of all.

  • just makes you wanna dance, get down and groove,,,,,,yeah baby.....

  • i recreated this on my keyboard once a long time ago.

  • epic...jk and the chaps absolutely awesome

  • 5 styless people visited

  • So much better than the new stuff.

  • this is JK's finest composition...not many people will recognise that this is Jamiroquai.

  • timeless

  • Kudos to Jay K for this awesome debut!

  • @ WMBunch1983 ...man, Jamiroquai are amazing to say the least, I,too, adore them

but you should check some more music of the past... This music is 99% influenced by 70s fusion (jazz-funky ) and especially Herbie Hancock, in this case (check "Headhunters" or "Man-child " ) ...I only want to state this, Jamiroquai 's music remains fantastic

  • real music.. I so love to hear all the instruments ... damn I love Jamiroquai

  • An epic meditation

  • Awesome!!!!!!!

    =-D

  • Greatness!

  • I remember seeing my first Jamiroquai video on BET(Black Entertainment Television). They crossed a huge color boundary. That was in 1993 when music was actually good. These guys are still very good and I have been a loyal fan since.

  • People have no idea how great this band really is.

  • @godbone39440 You are so right!!! I've been loving them since 93... like so IN LOVE lol..

  • @godbone39440 truly GIFTED beyond messure!

  • @godbone39440 the bassist is crazy, today this band is crap of techno

  • @lunatik75vnr the bassist was a kid at that time, right?

  • @sinshixxi yes :)

  • @godbone39440 the fact that something this awesome came off their debut album is mind blowing (lol Blow Your Mind....little inside joke...) but yeah Emergency on Planet Earth is my favorite album of all time and i just cant believe that shit this awesome was collectively on one album...its like the second Abbey Road to me lol

  • @godbone39440 Oh I have an idea. Jamiroquai was the first album I ever bought when I was eleven years old.

  • @KatoKid85 fucking hipster.

  • @Frankazification Ahhhh, I live in corn country Minnesota. Im about as far from hip as I can get. You are not smart

  • @godbone39440 was

  • @godbone39440 true... they are slept on

  • @godbone39440 was?

  • @godbone39440 feel the same way. they are very musically talented and underrated.

  • @godbone39440 !00% accord!

  • Beautiful

  • i lke this!

  • ooooooh this song this song ................

  • this song makes me want to dress up get sexy go to a ritzy club in down town chicago and spend money and enjoy the night...mmmmmmmm

maybe its a good thing i havent found a man who loves jamiroquai i would probably have a house full of babies lol!

  • @carmellac2000 i LOVE Jamiroquai. (The band, not Jason)

  • @GABOMAN742 wow alot of ppl are not show jay k some love

  • ah....

  • This song, superb, luxurious, a jewel, it can play with my mind, with my soul, with my atmosphere. I less myself making by these rythms. I can feel the music inside like my blood. I get crazy!!

  • Thanks, I hadn't listened to this track for years

  • this is a very special song.

  • I just realized this, but Busta Rhymes "My New York Shit" beat is completely jacked from instrumentation in this song. ...at part 1:51 where the beat starts & continues along to 2:32, where then it drops off until it starts up again at 4:42. Same distinct beat in the Busta Rhymes 2006 track, except this was 15yrs before it. :)

  • @WstCstFllwer Man, God didn´t give you sound ears... LOL The sample in Busta Rhymes - New York Shit, same as Diamond D - I Went for Mine, is SSO - Faded Lady.

  • @WstCstFllwer no actually it came from this other hip hop song that i cant name now lol

  • Man, everything is so perfect about this song.

Stu's bassline, Nick's dynamic drumming, Toby's keyboard solo and synthesizer parts, Glen Nightingale's Jazz guitar in the intro, Maurizio Ravalico's percussion work (I love the triangle from 2:33 onwards), John Thirkell's brass arrangement and trumpet solo, the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra ...

Jay and Toby were such an amazing songwriting duo.

  • I don’t think Jamiroquai were ahead of their time Pesante5. I think the opposite, but not in a bad way. These types of Jamiroquai tracks have an appreciation of multiple instruments that combine to give a complex layered sound. Outside of genres like jazz for example that’s something usually heard in older music, pre-Jamiroquai. Can only hope there’ll be tracks on their new album that will return to this sound, it’s been too long.

  • @immediately3000 i think that people mean when they say they were ahead of their time is that the music is timeless. int he fact that is could sound like it was made today or 20 yrs ago and it would still impress and surprise whoever was listening to it.

  • @ryanpk12 Maybe some misunderstand the term 'ahead of time', but some think that the track was ahead of its time, which it wasn't. It can't be when this type of musical arrangement existed decades before this was produced. Anyway, I think this track is timeless too and that it will continue to sound great forever.

  • Jamiroquai have an incredible gift at transporting listeners to another place in their minds. Travelling Without Moving was such an apt title it should be a music genre. When I hear this track I imagine a 1970s San Francisco (The Streets of San Francisco TV show no less!). The steep roads, the cars, the trams/streetcars, all bathed in sunshine.

  • @immediately3000 snap on that mate, instead im hitting the autobahn getting away from nothing fast late at night

  • @CRAVJENS Whatever floats your boat (or drives your vehicle).

  • Great

  • i want a top with this logo :PP

  • This is the only song that makes me wake up without wanting to go to sleep again :D i just love the way it goes faster and faster until I´m awake and ready to go

  • Such a soothing melody love it.

  • amo esta cancion, me parece sublime. espero Jay K vuelva al original sonido de los 90s.

  • Aaah. Brings me back to the good ol' 90ies. What a great time!

  • It's really Music Of The Wind

  • And the Music of the Nature too ;D

It's all about internal peace *-*

  • It's weird. On my CD it says "Mind", but on iTumes it's "Wind". I think the latter is a typo, but who knows? They are both nice titles. :-)

  • @CosmicBass3000 hmmm. I think Music of the Mind goes better with the song. If it's wind, that is some funky wind. ;)

  • This is my song for waking up...

  • Para mí es una obra maestra

  • beautiful, full of harmony! it feels like I'm in somewhere wonderful in the sky or space.

  • Chaaa...it's way too good. Who cares who is who is in front? This music is for the mind and body...close your eyes and heeeeeaaaarrrrrr it...and feeeeeel it.........ahhhhhhh

  • This is my favourite instrumental by Jamiro by far. Just ashame that no original band members are left now who performed this.

  • Derrick Mckenzie (the drummer) and Jay are the only original band members. But i get what ur sayin. Just dont sound the same.

  • Your wrong, Nick Van Gelder is the original drummer in 1993. Derrick joins in 1994.

  • I have this song as my wake-up alarm. And i just wanna wake up...lol xD Such a relaxing song :) 5*

  • Why did they leave?

  • This song is my Anthem

  • this song its so fucking relaxing in my personal opinionts my favorite jamiroquai song.

  • Great song :)

  • megadobry utwór!

  • Lovley

even thought i like hip hop an that.. id be stupid not to say this is music at its finest!

    just lovley

  • Holy skeet! This song is just awsum!

  • How do hell does a masterpiece like this have only 160 measly ratings...??? And 75k views...???

    Unfrakingbelievable.

  • Jamiroquai's front man overshadowed the talent of the other musicians. he took the image and is pretty much a narcisist. The bassist (mastermind) is trying to get them back together for a project of their own

  • damn!! this is one of the best song ever!!

it has such an incredible sensation

  • definitely one of those "trip" songs. at least for me...

  • this song gets me into the other state

  • i agree spud2345 :)

  • ahah, man i like put this on to get laid, fuck puts you in the MOOOOOD ahah sorry, for being loquacious, ya know, its a FUCKING stunning perfect in its essence song :)

  • With tracks like these its hardly suprising that they were amonst the top selling artists of th 90's. Mesmerising and innovative unlike modern shit like Soulja boy that just cant compare.

  • @PrincessLolita5000 Oh man, you're comparing god with a gipsy xd

  • I listen to this everyday as I'm walking to school. Simply Amazing...

  • Wow!! That's production. Great song! Too awesome. Hardly ever hear studio musicianship nowadays at this level.

  • The fact that this came out in 1993 only shows how far ahead of the music sounds these guys were. My peeps swore this came out back in '06 until I showed them the album release date via iTunes!!
