The reason Europeans got funny about America is because they themselves are divorced from reality not the other way around. You have the worst performing currency in the world, a declining European population, you have Islamic majorities taking over changing the very identity of Europe in the next 30 to 50 years, and you think America should be just as suicidal and ignorant as yourselves and because we aren't we got "funny." America didn't change. The rest of the West did.
