Ah! I used to watch this movie as a kid back in Germany. Over there it's called Dornroschen. Didn't realize this was an American film.

I like this version, but the evil fairy Maleficent in Disney's version is much better than the evil fairy in this version, Maleficent has a better costume! I always judge a movie by its villain, because they are a big part of the story

Yeah I love this movie, though it shows it age, I still love this version, even more then the Disney version.

And the songs while not the best are still great even the time and how quick the movie was made. GREAT film from my childhood

Sometime in the late 80's or early 1990's I saw this on cable TV and I have been unable to find it until now on Youtube! Is this a musical version of SleepingB ? I remember the finale song "Rosebud" is this the film with that song ? In the finale a giant rose opens up....fond memories...but now I see it has a Princess Bride thing going on also a movie from '87

The princess's name is Rosebud, but there isn't a song called that. There is a scene of the rose opening up when the prince kisses her, so I'm guessing this is the version you're thinking of.
