  • ???creative but not so creative... if you were good enough, create another style. don't scramble somebody's works together, it is very disrespectful to the great grand master CCK. thoroughly understand the 2 sets and perform them separately with the mantis spirit and CCK's spirit. if your mother's last name were Wong, you wouldn't call yourself Edward Wong Mak

  • Thank You for sharing, I would have to agree this looks like BB and LJ put together, still beautiful with nice execution. My teacher was in the Saigon era of Sigung CCK. I have noticed some differences between the Hong Kong and Viet Nam eras.

    Respectfully,

    Rick

  • This form seems to be switching between Bengbu and Lanjie lines - not just the opening, but you can see a lot of the cross-cutting and 'exploding' movements from Lanjie, then moving back to the breaking movements of Bengbu. Appears to be a BB-LJ hybrid to me.

  • Another LJ opening I'll need to ask about that

  • This Taichi Mantis style was spread by HK CCK. Please tell me what is the meaning of LJ opening?

  • My guess is that he's referring to the opening of this as being a Lian Jeet opening. For example, when I learned this form the first move was the strike to the throat seen here at 0:05, rather than starting with the Lian Jeet opening (0:00-0:05).

  • Thank you for sharing!

Its always interesting to see differences between the various lineages.
