I was a very little girl when this was a hit, and it used to make me cry; I didn't understand the lyrics at all, it was just the music. I can still remember those feelings listening to it after the passage of 40 years. What a great song it is.
Absolutely AMAZING! Thank you for posting this! Otherwise, I would've never had the opportunity to enjoy this song! AWESOME photos also! WOW! 1000 Thumbs Up!
Man i had this in the 70s on a various hits album and loved it,,i was just a kid and the scratchy vinyl sound just took me back to my ol bedroom and hi fi system many moons ago,,,thanks for posting this,,,Pete
first heard this song while working on a dairy farm in Victoria in 1973...takes me back to the time of a great era of talented Australian bands ...real musicians that set a standard which could never be matched by the pretenders we have to listen to these days!
is Adelaide South Australian band allison gross ( had great single Naturally and on Fable All the days ,changed their name to Mississippi and had self titled album, this was the first single, the album won album of the year in 72 Beeb Birtles from Zoot joined later version and he and founding member Graeme Goble went on to little river band you can get that album on cd in australia has some great tracks on it, one of my favourite albums, buy it!
I used to freak out everytime I heard this on GOL D 104. It's one of those great songs you always forget about. I, too, would love to find it someone. Had a thorough look last night, and iTunes was utterly mystified. I guess it's off to the 2nd hand record store. Thank God I didn't chuck out the turntable yet.

Had this on a compilation when I lived in Papua New Guinea in the seventies. Played that track endlessly till the tracks merged. I could never find another copy of it till now. Great to hear it again.

Yes you are right, two others also played bass with the band at some stage -Colin Deluca ,Andre Santos. Charlie also sang the lead vocals along with Beeb Birtles on the track Where In The World .
