If it wasn't 1/6 of the economy (albeit in recession/depression), "health care" could be more easily made to work for all Americans and then be exported around the world. In other words, it could be reworked to encourage innovation and a reasonable profit motive. But like greed in the financial markets, medicine has become a commodity with a speculative component. We can do better or government will end up backstopping health care like the banks.
This is quite disturbing. I saw this movie years ago and it seems more and more that way. He makes an interesting point about dying happy, not hooked up in bed with a bunch of machines.
